Hamizao wrote: "Hi, Shak. How are you getting on? My progress is just so-so as I am still toeing 2 other books. Oooooh!"I am still struggling hahaha..another friend has completed the book too. It is just work that is getting in the way..but work i must coz it gives me the mullahs to buy more books hehe. Thamrong said he discarded the book because he doesn't want to get brain damaged hahaha, that was funny. You certainly have not got brain damage :)
Anyhow, wonder how handsome Orhan Pamuk is..the mind meanders when the book gets that difficult LOL
I bought it on the internet. I just had to have it..you know the kind of connection you have when you know you need to read the book. :)Still haven't finished Wayne Dyer's Your Sacred Self
It is, Hamizao..i will write more about it soon so I can share with you. You know my fixation on spiritual stuff..heheThis book can't be found locally yet.
Ohh Hamizao..this is really a good book, with a beautiful concept :)But true..must crawl and walk first LOL..knock a few things along the way...pengsan sekejap bangun balik hehe..baru fly
That is certainly plausible Hamizao..but some tend to cling adamantly to these myths, hence remaining stagnant and drag others around them too...
Thanks for the review..I was just wondering whether it is well worth the read...Now i better get back to my shopaholic series ;)
I think what is perceived as the origin of something depends very much on the perspective of the writer too. But seriously Thamrong..I personally feel that there are aspects of Islam lost and can only be found in other faiths..
Just wondering what you and Hamizao think about this..
My family calls me Shaki actually. U are most welcome to call me by that name too :)I have been pressed for time too..alhamdulillah lots of translation assignments. Hope it lasts
Hi Hamizao,I am inclined to buy that idea..yes..:-)
I have been so busy thus rendering me unable to do much in goodreads. But look in to see what's new..waiting for your participation on facebook
Cheers sis!
I think i understand exactly where you are coming from. Just when I was almost certain that I have understood it through and through, something will come to my attention that will tell me that I am no where near it. I suppose that enigma is partly why it fascinates me so ..hehe
My ex-husband used to be really mad when I got myself a book, because I would be behind in all my house chores. I used to read voraciously as a child and later as a young adult, but when I was married, it began to be something I did with a sense of guilt. But I needed books to escape from my sadness. I agree with Silvana, reading is our right. And it was books that have inspired me to do the right thing..:-) It was books that gave me the courage to make myself a free woman and now I seize every opportunity to read without a sliver of guilt. :-)
Thanks for the tip, Thamrong. Like Hamizao I also fall into category 2. And I am totally fascinated my metaphysics..you too Hamizao?
Something like that :). A realm I am consistently exploring, and making progress slowly but, surely (I think). A lot of old ideas need to be purged. What the book has managed to do to me personally, is emphasise the fact that we can choose to either be a victim or a victor - an idea quite alien to some muslims who have been taught to merely accept fate.
