It's a shame, right? So close to being a fantastic book, yet so far.

Makes me think maybe you read Pitchfork a little too much.

The pig is totally lazing. Turns out there are many happy lazing pigs in the book. Aside from the dead and butchered pigs, which, no matter how happy they might have once been, presumably are no longer. There are probly more of the latter.

Also turns out that not only is the cover pink check, it's puffy. Seriously. Squishy. Soft. Piggy.

Thanks. That all makes sense, I agree. But it comes so suddenly, you know? The rest of the story is so evenly paced that the speed of events at the very end is surprising.
