579954 Lol ... wanting some character definition and a bit of a story ... we are so fussy, aren't we?

I read a few Lessings in my teens, and didn't particularly like them.

970 "Everything You Need" by A.L. Kennedy. I doubt I would ever have come across this author without this list. I thought it was well-written but I never really gelled with the "near-death" motivation of the writers on the island. I don't think that was presented convincingly. But I found it beautifully visual; I could really imagine the island and its beauty. A good read.

970 Oh yeah ... I read and loved it in English middle school ... I'd forgotten about it. That was so long ago it's definitely due for a re-read

970 I sorted the list alphabetically by author's name (FIRST name, that is) and I'm working down from the top. Unless I really love a particular author, I probably won't read more than one in a row by any particular writer. I'm also limited by what my library has its shelves.

6628 Thanks for the recommendation, Michael. Since school started a month ago, my leisure reading time has evaporated. Basically, I study till I crash every night. Thus the lack of updates on my part. But I'll eventually get back to it ...

29501 I read this a year or more ago, Michael. In fact, it's one of the books I've kept for future re-reading (you know how I usually pass books on.) Good stuff.
