I'm at 4%. It drives me crazy because I read a book a week, and that's as far as I've gotten! At this point I actually base all my library visits on the list simply because I plan to get my Master's in English, starting this fall, and so I want to be able to read things quickly that I would never choose to read otherwise. What's great about the list is that I've read so many things I would generally turn my nose up at and genuinely liked them. Woohoo!
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. It would have been more fun to read if I hadn't seen the movie all ready and/or was younger. Still, it's worth reading at least.
I got The Collected Works of Flannery O'Connor because it had everything of hers that's on the list. As it turns out, Flannery O'Connor is one of the best writers I've been lucky enough to come across. Her stories are somehow very easy to read while being very spiritually driven at the same time. I ended up reading the entire book...All 1281 pages. If anything, it's a good vacation for people who get tired of reading about people falling in love.
Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. At first I found it refreshingly vulgar, but at this point I'm getting a bit tired of all the women in Paris prostituting themselves. Still, it's nicely done and is very quotable. For example: "I'm a bit retarded, like most Americans."
I'm pretty biased toward that kind of music to, but only if the lyrics are good. That happens to be a simple song with good lyrics...Even if it's not exactly the most philosophical.
What other musicians do you like? I need some recommendations.
At this point you are now further along in the world of Harry Potter than I've managed to make it. Honestly, I stopped enjoying the books after that incident with Dumbledore...
Awesome. Thanks for letting me borrow it. I have a couple library books I have to finish before I can start on it, but that shouldn't take too long.
