Currently I am reading YOU on a Diet by Dr. Oz lol. I watched Oprah and was facinated by the way this doctor teaches so easily and how you are left knowing so much. He has many books that he has written. They are easy reads. I am also reading "Paula" by Isabel Allende; who happens to be one of my favorite authors.
Hello everyone. My name is Adriana and I am new to the group. I live in sunny South Florida but am a midwesterner at heart. I am booklover as the rest of you are, and joined good reads to meet other people who shared my passion for books. I look forward to participating in this group. Learning of new books to add to my TBR pile and to make new friends.
Ok...so here it goes. The one book that I always recommend to people is "7 Habits of Highly Effective People." I know most people aren't into reading self-help books but books offer us so much knowledge as it is and when we find a book that builds upon our character and our self-esteem, it's difficult not to accept it into our repetoir of books.
This book helped me find myself at a time where I wasn't even lost. It just made me grow into a woman that I could admire and respect and it taught me how to pass on this beautiful knowledge to my daughter. It is a fantastic read and you can read it over and over again and always learn something new.
I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the warm welcome Ann. Since I am new I am not sure if you mean that you are doing this new recipe a week with this group or by yourself. Is it a group thing? If so do we all have to use the same cookbook? I made a really simple recipe for Lemony Chicken out of an old Betty Crocker cookbook about 3 months ago and it was DELICIOUS. Good luck with your new recipes.
Leppaluoto I just read our wordpress. You are a very interesting person. I love it! What a wonderful experience to be raised in a library like that.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the group. My name is Adriana. Look forward to getting to know all of you as well as hearing about the great books you've read. Not that I need to add more to my TBR list, but hey a few thousand more won't hurt ; )
Since you guys are talking about tea, I was wondering if any of you know how to make the supposed "perfect" cupf of tea?
I found this on the internet and I thought you guys might enjoy it if you are tea drinkers:

I myself am a beer lover.
A great cup of hot chocolate with lots of creamy sweetness on top on a super cold day or while skiing is the best!
A glass of wine with a fruit and cheese platter is my favorite and coffee rarely ever touches my lips. Not interested in the smell, taste or smell of peoples breath when they drink it.
1) Favorite place to read: In a park under a tree with some wine and fruits, in my bedroom when it's raining under my covers alone in the house, at the beach under a hammock or umbrella where I can hear the ocean
2) Favorite genre: I like a genre most people cannot seem to get into. It's self-help.
3) Current number of read books: God only knows. I haven't added many books and never really kept track. I have 40 years of books to remember.
4) Current number of unread books: Too many to count. There are more books that I want to read than I have in a lifetime.
5) Favorite author: Steinbeck, Jodi Picoult, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Paolo Cohelo, Adriana Trigiani, Dean Koontz, Isabell Allende
6) Favorite Poet: Maya Angelou. I love 'Phenomenal Woman.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the group. I just read your answers on this post and I have to say I agree with most of you. I too love cookbooks. I collect them and just love trying out the new recipes.
Office supplies are great! I remember as a young girl going with my father to staples to buy markers and fun pens. Folders and journals. I couldn't wait to get home and put them to use. They used to have (may still have) really modern, different things that you couldn't find anywhere else back in the 80's.
I also love journals. Usually the higher end ones. Something about the first time I open the journal and smell the pages brings me all sorts of ideas on what I can fill the pages with.
Hi Tayla. I am new to the group. Just joined right now. I am curious, would you mind telling me what this spreadsheet is for? Thanks
Hi Russ I'm new to the group myself. I would love to see your list as well. 1001 is a little overwhelming for now. Thanks
Hello everyone I just joined the group and love theat there is a group like this on here.
My name is Adriana and I live in sunny Florida. About a mile and a half away from Fort Lauderdale beach with my husband and beautiful 18 month old little girl Vanessa-Alexandra.
I am an avid book reader with a great passion for books that most people aren't lovers of...self-help. I love books that I can both learn from and apply to my every day life. Dean Koontz, Isabelle Allende, Paolo Cohelo, Adriana Trigiana and Gabriel Garcia Marquez are some of my favorites.
Look forward to getting involved in this group. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
