394172 Katie, I think I have this one, so if you want to borrow it let me know. Someone gave it to me. I haven't read it yet. It's supposed to be pretty good, though.

14866 Haven't read this one -- Too close to home. I've liked some of her others, but I pretty much always hate her endings. I think she tries so hard to add surprise twists that they often don't make sense in light of the actual characters and plot.

1375560 I started to get into this one, but just couldn't. Gave up after about ten pages. When does it get good?

1 In addition to the read, to-read, and currently-reading shelves, I would love to see one for abandoned books. I like to keep track of all my books, but if I begin one and don't finish it doesn't really qualify as read. At the same time, I'm probably not planning to finish it, which means it doesn't really fit in my to-read or currently-reading lists. So how about adding a fourth default shelf for abandoned books?

375802 How are you liking this one so far? I'm not a sci fi fan, but I could not put it down once I got started. Hope you enjoy it just as much.

51ytfrap7-l Hey, Athena! Just wondering if you meant to give this book one star? It's not out yet. ;-)

105732 I've been enjoying it. I'm listening to it on audio, though, which enriches it so much. Gaiman reads it himself, and he has a wonderful British accent. Plus, I know exactly how he wants the dialogue to go.

73095 I see you found another source for SEP! Public library? They've got a lot there.

17005 I really want to read this one, too, Jessica. Thanks for the (indirect) recommendation. I have Suite Scarlett, her new one, on my to-buy list, and I can't wait to get it. Ever go on Maureen Johnson's blog? It's tons of fun.

519jij-rxol I just started his audio version of Neverwhere. This one's good as well, although they have some sound effects that are sometimes distracting and in several instances have made it difficult or downright impossible to figure out a few of the words. Otherwise wonderful, though!

1476897 Well, in the long run I suppose that's better--lots more for us to read!

1476897 Wait...List? What list? Am I missing something? Or do you mean the Cherries list? I have her blog on my RSS feed reader, but she doesn't write often.

519jij-rxol I listened to this one on audio, with him doing his own reading. Oh my GOD. I could listen to him forever. He narrates many of his other books, so if you liked this one and you ever listen to audio books, well, there you go.

1476897 This is my first book by her and I LOVELOVELOVE it! I'm so delighted because now I've found a new author. I tried to read her first book, but I hated the protagonist, so I just couldn't make myself read it. This one, however, I like so much I'll have to try her others. It's tough, though, because the library just got in a new order, including three brand new books I had requested, so they're all piling up. All I want to do is read!

147843 That's good to know. I haven't really gotten into it yet, hence all the other books going on at the same time, but I've heard so many good things about it that I've been determined to read it nevertheless. It's nice to know that it will pick up.

157055 P.S. I also read Love Among the Walnuts. Although it's very different from Once Upon a Marigold in terms of setting, it's also fun.
Oct 07, 2007 09:58AM

157055 I had so much fun with this book! It's definitely light, but it's cute, funny, and romantic, and there's a lot to be said for that.

37442 It's been enjoyable so far. I read it when I was in high school and didn't remember much, so it's been nice to read it again now that my book group chose it.
