220 I'm finding this to be increasingly problematic with picture books. Right now, a search for Brian Selznick (2008 winner of the Caldecott medal) doesn't list many of his earlier works, as he is "just" the illustrator, not the author. I agree with Sallyb (above) - for this type of book, the illustrator is just as (sometimes more) important than the author.

51rqclp2mwl The author came to our class. Really liked her talk, so had semi-high hopes for the book. Reminds me a bit of Higher Power of Lucky - probably something adults think is wonderful for kids, but that the kids think is dull like a dull thing.

1 I like the way this has been set up - without the date showing, but still using it to put the books in proper reading order.

Thanks!

1 I'd like to see the day added to the "date read" field. I read a lot of books in a month, so with only month/year, the reading order gets very scrambled.

293748 I liked that it was the older brother who got snarked at by the mother, instead. Which other books would you recommend by this author?

185 I'm trying to track down a book for a library patron.

- Book about residentials schools (probably Canadian) published recently.
- Title is something like "You Can Laugh Now"
- He thought the author was Georgette Fox, but I haven't found her listed anywhere.

Does this ring any bells?

220 I don't mind the print and audio versions being grouped together for social purposes, but I can see how it might create problems in ratings.

Perhaps a solution would be to separate the versions, but create an obvious link between them for easy navigation.

594921 It's my mom's favourite restaurant in Victoria - we bought her the book for her birthday. I made the peanut butter oatmeal squares the other week and they were brilliant.
