3551 Thanks for that tip! I wasn't coming up with much in the way of juicy gossip. It was slightly disappointing. ;)

3551 I had no idea of any past history with the author. I bought City of Bones, because I liked the cover of City of Ashes and then saw that book one had just come out in paperback.

I am so swayed by cover art, it's sad! :)

I now have to google this saga!

3551 I am relieved that you agree! I thought perhaps I was the only one who felt the relationship came from left field!

Jace just bugged me. I much preferred Simon. Just thought he needed to be around more.

3551 I read this book way back in April. :) I really enjoyed it, too. I am trying very hard to not buy the second book in Hard Cover, so if it is discussed before next Summer I'll have to stay away!

3551 I thought it was kind of weird. I didn't like Jace all that much and I felt the relationship sort of came out of nowhere.

3551 Hey there!
I'm a new addition to this group, as well. I'm currently a secretary to the Dean of a major University Music School in Canada, though my heart lies in the bookstore that I had to leave 7 years ago when paying rent became more important than working somewhere I loved. (Sadly, I was told I was too young at 24 to be promoted to store manager. Sigh.) I have been thinking of going back to the bookstore, though now it's a matter of paying a mortgage and the pay cut I would have to take would mean I can't pay it. Alas!
I am a huge YA fan (obviously, or I wouldn't have joined this group!) and a huge reader. (My record was 13 books in about a week and a half, just last month!)

I have a book review blog that I try to keep up-to-date and a personal blog that I just ramble on.

I think my fave YA series has to be LJ Smith's Secret Circle trilogy. I have the original books on my shelf and tend to re-read them at least once every two years or so.

So that's about it. Oh, I'm married (3 years now) and have two wonderful Finnish Lapphund dogs!

3551 (Hi! I'm new to this group!)

The Secret Circle trilogy has been one of my most prized book collections and I have kept it with me all these years - it's survived a bunch of moves, a "book cleaning" when I got older and a house fire. I am tempted to pick it up when it is re-released again as a back up. I did a post about it on my book blog about a year ago.

I just read Why I Let My Hair Grow Out, by Maryrose Wood, and loved it! I now have the second one on my radar.

Also, The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. It's her first YA debut and it was ok. Many other people seem to have liked it more than I did, but I didn't hate it. :)

30260 I don't think I liked this one as much as the rest. This is the relic one, yes? I know I wasn't a huge fan of the weres and whatnots.

1582996 Hmm, I am sad to hear your disappointment in this book. I am trying very hard not to get it until it comes out in paperback. So actually I'll likely forget about this comment by then. ha! However, since you were disappointed in it perhaps I am glad I am waiting until the paperback so I don't spend the extra money on it!

This cover is nicer than the first one though. ;)

30263 I am thrilled you are finally reading the Kim Harrison books!! Next you have to read Kate Forsyth! =P

But these are some of the best books ever!

516aeew25al The earlier Anita Blake books are excellent, however they get more and more, um, S&M, bondage, porn-ish after Obsidian Butterfly and I stopped reading them. :( I am after all, a prude. :)

30264 FINALLY!!! I love this series!! The first ones are better than the last ones - but I STILL love them! I hope you enjoy it, too!

41p7u5n03jl I changed my mind, there were many things I did not like about this book - the ending being a major one. But I DID like the main character - and not just because her name was Cat. ;) But I did not like the Spike-knock-off vampire though.

501909 How utterly disappointing. Though the cover was enchanting, the story was not.

430787 Is this the latest one? I don't think I have read this one... I do know that as the books progress I find I am losing interest in them.

My all time fave though is Confessions of an Ugly Step Sister.

645180 I was curious about this book when I saw it on your To-Read list and then I came across it at Indigo totally by chance (I had run into Jennifer's sister and was talking to her in the aisle that it was in!) and once I read the blurb on the jacket I was even more curious! Let me know what you think. I don't quite want to buy it in hard cover, can't afford it right now!!
