My life is a transitive verb. I need a subject and at least one or more objects in order to get through the day.
I'm rather fond of Tristessa as well, Mike: its tenderness and vulnerability a likely, honest coda (or epilogue) to the excessiveness of some of the other novels.
I was thinking of posting Mer's photo on my profile & seeing how many requests I can get.I'm only joking of course. But I'm only joking, Will, to get closer to your sister.
Yes, Mark, it will take serious efforts on the parts of both leaders and citizens to face and address the problem, & that's a difficult project to undertake if no one wants to hear bad news, if we continue to believe that we are entitled to our current standard of living. One can imagine a nation-wide project like that of the U.S. during WW-II, but it's difficult to imagine our politicians, at the expense of their approval ratings, or economists taking the lead. Perhaps, in the end, it'll be necessity that brings about change. Many voices however, such as Heinberg, Kunstler, Campbell, Deffeyes, Matthew Simmons, et al., believe that that'll be too late.
