185 Has anyone read a book about Mary Reade, a woman who disguised herself as a pirate in the early 18th century?

41aj8qkuoil ooooooh, you have to tell me if you get as addicted to this as I did! I have all four of the series (i know, it's sick) but you can borrow them if you keep reading. even though i think the first book is the best one! AND they are coming out with a movie in November...such a dork!

1 I like seeing the whole number of books. If I compare books with someone and we have a lot in common, then I might look over their to-read shelf just to see if there are any books I think look interesting. Then I can look at the book's page and get all the info I need. I think it's a great way to find even more books, which, of course, end up on my to-read shelf. ;)

1 I would really love to have the option to show book summaries in my to-read list. I have a hard enough time deciding what to get next, but if I could quickly see what each book is about all on the same page, instead of clicking on a book and going back and forth from there to the to-read list, that would be so great.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I just thought I would see if I could get it added to the infamous to-do list! Thanks!

185 That's it! Thanks!

185 Well, it was definitely pretty "racy." I'm not sure, it could have been the Sarah book? but for some reason I think it had Abraham in the tittle? The problem is that it's a story that's told so many times I guess. But it was from Sarah's point of view. So maybe that's it. Thanks for responding.

185 This book was about a group of nomadic people who where being lead by Abraham. He was getting messages from God. He and his wife were trying really hard to have a baby, I think. And then at some point they are in Egypt and they have to pretend that they aren't married and the Egyptian King wants to take Abraham's wife.

185 There was a series of books that I read a few years ago and it seems like most of them were set in the South. I think that books were named after the locations? They were all by the same author, but had different characters. For some reason, I thought it was Joyce Carol Oates, but it wasn't. But that does make me think it's an author with three names maybe?

185 Amazing! That's it! Thanks!

185 Oh my gosh! Thanks so much! I can't wait to track that one down!

185 I don't remember much about this book at all except it had a lot to do with a guy cutting the grass, maybe to lose weight? I know that's not a lot to go on... I'm going to keep thinking about it, but thought for now I'd post this. Thanks.

185 I read two books a few year ago by the same author. I'm pretty sure in the first the couple is going through a divorce and the wife moves out west and maybe becomes a chef on a ranch or something? I think she had a bakery in NYC before she moved. I think her best friend is back in NYC and may have been a gay man? And then in the second book I think 911 happens? Any ideas? Thanks.

185 Could it be Paul Coelho's The Zahir: A Novel of Obsession

"

The narrator of The Zahir is a bestselling novelist who lives in Paris and enjoys all the privileges money and celebrity bring. His wife of ten years, Esther, is a war correspondent who has disappeared along with a friend, Mikhail, who may or may not be her lover.

Was Esther kidnapped, murdered, or did she simply escape a marriage that left her unfulfilled? The narrator doesn't have any answers, but he has plenty of questions of his own. Then one day Mikhail finds the narrator and promises to reunite him with his wife. In his attempt to recapture a lost love, the narrator discovers something unexpected about himself. "

185 It's not Deenie. But I'm definitely going to read that soon! It may be Fifteen! Is the the one where she accidentally sticks the straw up her nose when she is trying to drink? If not, does anyone remember that one?

Nothing is really sticking out yet, and for some reason, I think this was a little more "racy" than Beverly Cleary...That's what made me think Blume. But I'm going to check out some Cleary stuff and see if anything rings a bell. Thanks so much for all of your responses.
