Beth --I'm so happy you're going to school full-time! I did it when my daughter was Abner's age, and I know you'll do great. You're also providing him with a great example of hard work and persistence.
I loved Garden Spells! Sarah Addison Allen is a great author.
Take care and good luck! Let me know if I can do anything to help -- we single moms must stick together!

Hi everybody --
I'm reading "Tricky Business" by Dave Barry and have run across a hit man whom I swear was in Carl Hiaasen's "Native Tongue" -- Lou Tarant. Since the two of them are friends who work for the Miami Herald, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Carl had loaned Lou to Dave.
Anybody remember the name of the Native Tongue hitman? The similarities are just too canny to ignore.
Thanks!

My blog is BFE Girl, which profiles my often-difficult life in the country with my better half, The Banshe. It's not the country that's hard, it's The Banshe (although I'm probably not built for live-in relationships).Reader discretion advised: I tend toward the profane.
I also comment on books I've read and will soon be putting up my (several) catalogs.

I was surprised how bitter some Georgia authors are against John Berendt. In her first book, Mary Kay Andrews (better known as Kathy Hogan Trocheck) made snippy comments about the book and its author. Probably jealous.
I can't thank you enough, Tiffany! I got incredibly bored with the CD version and returned it to the library, only to have my S/O wonder what had happened to Pi and the tiger! Thanks for letting me know -- and sharing that I'm not the only one who detested this book.
