I recently bought this one but I haven't read it yet. I've heard nothing but good things, though!
I agree -- great review. I think I have to move this one up on the TBR pile because of my ancestral circus ties which is the uppermost reason I gravitated to the book. I think it will provide clues as to what those ancestors may have been like.
I really enjoyed this book. I especially enjoyed the feistyness of Joseph at 90 (or 93). It really was good to be reminded that older folks who still have all their faculties should not be treated in a condescending manner. Too often people in assisted care facilities are treated like children. I loved the personality of Joseph, and the ending was really satisfying.
I loved this book too...reread it again after seeing movie! I loved the setting and the circus life.....totaly enjoyed
