karen in case anyone was concerned, the book avalanche has been contained and re-stacked, under the watchful eye of maggie, who may or may not have caused it in the first place.

The Crimson Fucker Over look??? Moi ???* nothing is over look! The obsessive compulsive mind works wonders!!! I’m ready for anything them zombies can throw at me! And yes, that include zombie frogs! (resident evil zero) and in case you wondering I also have a contingency plan for incase I find myself in France during a zombie outbreak (there is a plan for when the French government tries to kidnapped me to take me to France and clean their “beautiful” city of the zombie threat) is something like pretend that a bunch of French “soldiers” (ha! Everyone knows the French can’t fight! Nor do war) and when I get there take advantage of all those holes in France… with some explosives… I will not only take care of the zombies… but also bye bye Paris!!!

*: WTF????

karen ha! the french are insidious - they get into your comments without your even seeing them. french ninjas... shrug. you should read this. even if you dont trust a frenchie like me.

message 5: by Stephen (new)

Stephen The French like to fight each other. The history of France is chock-a-block full of France on France wars.

Also, good review. hehehe

Stephen et zee vin!

message 8: by Nicole (new)

Nicole I love the comparison to the bible. Makes me think a little harder.

message 9: by Janie (new)

Janie McMahan I think that's what drew me away from this book. I'm all used to "mmmmm, braaiinns!" and this was all "and then the whole country went apeshit and we have no cure blah blah blah". I need action, blood, guts: and this gave me none of the above :(

message 10: by karen (new)

karen yeah, i think that's what i liked about it. it was unexpected.

message 11: by Lori (new)

Lori The fact you have a shelf called "my-brains-junk-food" makes me happy. :)

message 12: by Chris (new)

Chris Fullwood I love your line "This book is about zombies the same way the Bible is about God." Such a perfect summarization in a single simple sentence. In some parts it is just about as entertaining as the Bible as well.

karen thank you! i'm surprised no one has taken that monster mash-up thing that one step further and written the bible with zombies. i would totally buy that.

The Bible already has zombies. Jesus is like... the original zombie.

And on the eighth day God made zombies. And they were good. Real good.

true, but i'm talking OT zombies, not the feel-good half. all the parts where you are already like "oh no, you didn't, god!!" and he's like "yup, i did. and then i threw zombies at you, too. god out!"

message 17: by Quinn (new)

Quinn I agree the zombies are more ancillary, you can substitute any other kind of catastrophic event and still tell the same stories of struggle and survival.

message 18: by Rhett (new)

Rhett Konneman I couldn't agree more with your review. Initially the interview style narrative is cool, but it becomes frustrating after some time because you know the individual snippet is eventually going to end and you will have to meet someone else entirely new. No favorite characters to watch grow. It just wasn't my favorite. Was ready for it to end.
