I have this book on my to read list because I really liked her book
The Secret Language
when I was young. I've reread it since being on Goodreads, for a group; I still have my childhood copy.

Great review, by the way, Barb, and now I want to read it even more. I have more than 5-10 pounds I'd like to lose!

Thanks Lisa! I have to try and find her kids book. I am not sure if I read it or not. Why is it so easy to gain and such torture to lose weight? I went to bed with my stomach squirreling at me for food. So I'm sitting at my computer this morning blissfully eating. At least it is an apple and granola bar versus a meatloaf sandwich ; ) Hey! did you hear? Ivan won the Newbery! I loved that book. So happy for the big gorilla! Of course I'm going to root for the character with a big appetite.

Barb, Look at it this way. Our biology hasn't evolved as fast as our modern lives. I think we're designed to keep on weight because during homo sapiens' early years, i'll bet food wasn't so easy to come by, and we needed to retain those calories! Keeping weight on is a positive adaptation for people who don't have enough food or regular food. Too bad for us now!
