I am so glad to know that you liked it. It's another book club book for me for January. I'm 130th on the waiting list but I have time. Anyway, you've gotten me excited about reading it, so thank you!
I just finished the Guernsey letters. In my review I said it had the potential to be a new best book. It is difficult to top "To Kill a Mocking Bird", but this is darn close.

I had just added this to my "to read" list yesterday, and found these comments today. As good as Harper Lee? NPR did a segment on the novel several months ago.
Yes, same. I read some of the negative reviews and actually was feeling a little guilty for loving this book so much. But I felt the same way as you -- really hoping to visit Guernsey at some point soon.
I also loved this book! I listed to an audio version and each time a letter was read it was done by a different actor. The result was wonderful. My favorite audio book! I rec. listening to it even if you have read the book. When a story makes you laugh out loud, brings you to tears, and stays with you years after reading it, that is a good book!
