This one bored me to tears trying to read it. But listening to the audio version was much better.

Ugh, tell me about it. I literally fell asleep at one point when reading it. Thinking of lowering it to 2.5 stars, but I'll see how I feel after writing my review.

Natalie Monroe I preferred Before I Fall

Rogier was never interested

Heather Oh, I loved this book! I loved it even more the second time I read it, before Pandemonium. I thought the writing was beautiful. Oh well, different strokes and all that :-)

I thought the writing was beautiful, too, but unfortunately the plot and romance just wasn't for me. *shrugs* I'm glad you liked it, though! I've heard great things about Pandemonium, though, so I'm looking forward to it!

Kaitlyn *Nandos* Horan The second book, Pandemonium, is a lot better. Lena is a different girl and so much stronger. Plus, the new love interest, Julian, is more developed and there's no insta-love. :)

That's what I've heard, so I have hope for it! And another love interest? (view spoiler)

Snuggles with Rainbows I had marked this book as to-read...now i'm reconsidering this decision :/

I wouldn't! I lot of people tend to really like it, so I'd hate for you to rule out a book you might enjoy because of a review I wrote. The whole love concept just isn't for me, truthfully.

I don't want to give anything away, but it's not a love triangle in the second book, because she believes Alex is dead, but I'm pretty sure there will be one in the third book, because of what happens at the end of book two.

message 13: by Lakota (new)

Lakota I agree. I just don't understand why so many people love this book so much. Not to mention, the characters are horridly and paradoxically flat and round at the same time and the hardback cover (without the dust cover) is probably the single most disturbing thing I have ever seen on the cover of a book.

message 14: by Oliver (new)

Oliver Urban Pandemonium was a much better read. There's plenty of action, but its not overdone. Lena changes a lot, and the ending was just . . . Well, the ending was interesting to say the least. Although there was some more insta-love. Not as bad as the first book though.

message 15: by Lakota (new)

Lakota Well, that's good then. I am actually going to read the second book when I have time since I have heard a lot of people saying that. I just think the first book could have been executed better.

message 16: by Becki (new)

Becki I'm trying really hard to enjoy this book. I like Lauren Oliver well enough (loved Before I Fall but I'm reading this right after finishing Matched by Ally Condie, and I feel like the story is a bit repetitive. Except of course that Lauren Oliver puts more into her characters than Condie did. I just wish that she'd improve her pacing some.
