Jessica a hefty dust bunny, eh? great phrase!
I did finish the book, but I'd give it two stars as well.

Sally I have a bad habit of abandoning books if they aggravate me. Some people soldier on through to the bitter end. Not me. Why did you give it two stars?

Jessica well I posted about it elsewhere, earlier...but: an easy read, too surface-y for me; even so, I was ready to buy it until the soppy-sloppy ending came ...the ending was really silly to say the least.

Sally I was lurking about your page trying to find your review after I asked that, but I could't find it. I feel like I have read you say that before. But I agree. Too surfacey. It was a really beautiful concept, but just no roots to it. Wilt.

Jessica hmmm. I must've posted it on someone else's review/thread then!

message 6: by Jessica (new)

Jessica oh yeah, it was meant to...I mean, she based on her novel on that incident.

Karen I agree with you guys, it was difficult to finish. I read it for a book club and I was the only one in the group that didn't like it. The rest of them kept trying to talk me into liking it. I said the author owed me $12 and they got upset with me. Whatever!

Sally Yes - I'd like that author to give me back the 10 hours of my life that went into that book. The real incident from which she gleaned her inspiration was nowhere as beautiful as she made it out to be, as I recall.

Jessica well no, she romanticized it, but she's's fiction after all. She just needs to make the story credible for the reader, which she didn't accomplish for some of us. Still, a good friend of mine loves the book! I try not to discuss it with her much now...don't want to be a curmudgeon. I mean she really loves it.

Jamaie The ending angered me to no end!!!! See my review I just posted today.

Helen I totally agree with your review Sally. A very annoying book!

message 12: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Clark I agree. I can't understand how it turned out so dull!
