Richard This is also on my to-read list, and, like you, I was told about this by some friends of mine who recommended it warmly. I have yet to read it, though. This review is another nudge, so thanks for that! :)

Lewis is thought of primarily as the author of the Narnia series, the Space trilogy and various works on Christianity, however he was also a scholar in the field of medieval and Renaissance literature.

Sorry to nitpick here but The Discarded Image is not a book of Lewis' poetry as your review suggests (but maybe I misread?). It discusses (among other things) medieval cosmology and the Ptolemaic universe. So since you've already read Planet Narnia, you would enjoy and understand it quite well, I think.
