Nicole Your points are well taken although none of those things bothered me. For me, it was refreshing to read about life in Hungary before the Holocaust. Maybe it's because my parents are survivors and I have heard so much about the horrors of that time. My dad is Hungarian and we have so few photos of life before the war. I loved that part of the book.
