Irene i think that this is a problem with a lot of "postmodern" books. bleh

Tom Fogarty I haven't read this book nor do I plan on reading it but your comments have struck me because they are honest. I have read many a book where I felt completely lost and even stupid that I didn't get what was going on. I would read paragraphs, pages and evenh chapters and afterwards be like "what did I just read". The only advice I can give is put the book down and grab something you really want to read. Why feel guilty for not finishing a book that holds no interest for you anyway. I used to be the same way until I realized that I have so many books that I want to read that I don't have time to waste on books that don't hold my interest. Good luck.

David Ruekberg It's not that hard to understand. It's not obscure. It's playful. It's not John Grisham.

message 4: by Alex (new)

Alex I don't particularly care for John Grisham, and I do enjoy playful books - just not this one.

message 5: by Jillian (new)

Jillian Vegan cupcakes. lol. You'll laugh when you read it. I agree.

message 6: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Whew! I thought I was the only one who didn't quite get it and had to keep reading parts over and over again.

message 7: by Krzysztof (new)

Krzysztof The story is told from three perspectives, all mixed together, and out of sequence. It won't start to make sense for a while, but if you stick with it, it will.

message 8: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rios I understood what was going on, I just thought it was stupid. I mean, what ultimately happened? What was the point of any of this story? His dad died. His gramma was a pathetic loser. His mom had her head up her butt. His grandpa was probably mentally ill. For that matter, HE was mentally ill. No point at all to this story. What happened? He dug up a coffin. Big deal.

message 9: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Good point, Jessica. I guess I got it, but just thought it was dumb!

message 10: by Janice (new)

Janice I'm too old for such cleverness. Walk away from the book.

message 11: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Agreed! A definite disappointing book.

message 12: by Rachel (new)

Rachel You are not crazy. I myself find the main character annoying. This book is disjointed and the characters are not believable.

message 13: by Claudette (new)

Claudette lol @ Janice "I'm too old for such cleverness". I totally agree!

message 14: by Krisz (new)

Krisz I totally agree! Glad there are others that didn't get it. Yep, they dug up a grave. And surprise surprise...there was nothing in it!
That's a week of my life I'll never get back!
