Tracy Took the words out of my mouth. Great review.

message 2: by Flannery (new)

Flannery Darn. I was just perusing GR to (hopefully) confirm my suspicions that (view spoiler) and I found your review. I'm so disappointed to hear that it isn't! I still have about half to read--I'm interested to see how this all plays out since that isn't the case...

Great review, though!

Lea I'm curious to see if you agree with me after you've finished -- I keep thinking I must have missed something with this book since everyone seems to love it so much! Obviously there are a few of us "dissenters" out there, though . . .

Flannery I'm back. I still agree with you--and I really can't figure out what I want to write as a review...

Adam actully it gave a reason for hating his dad it is because he abandond him and mother

message 6: by Lea (new)

Lea True, it did give a reason for him hating his father, but never really explained why he disliked or was indifferent to his loving grandparents.

message 7: by Victoria (new)

Victoria The reason he's indifferent to his grandparents is because he expects them to abandon him like all the other adults in his life. By not caring it won't hurt him as much if they do. It says that in like the first chapter.

message 8: by Zakuras (new)

Zakuras Aw, I was really looking forward to loving this book. Now, I'll be reading without so much expectation.
But the cover is still amazing!

Maybe you'll like it even better since your expectations are lowered!

message 10: by Jason (new)

Jason I feel like you could have written a better book than the author. The book was... Okay TOPS

message 11: by Kaitlin (new)

Kaitlin Uhmm, if you aren't bothered by a spoiler in the second book, then if you could take a look at my review that'd be great. It's not so much of a review as it is an explanation. It explains the whole gay straight stereotyping in the book. I just really don't want people thinking the author is saying a different message than he is. It'll make sense if you read my review or the second book.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm not sure if I'll read the next book, but it's interesting to see where the author was headed.
