Bitch, I see you disparaging me on the Internet.
Hahaa! Caught!
I have a thing about seeing movies by myself. That's something only perverts and socially bankrupt losers do.
...and that's why I stopped. :o) I'm so behind on the movies.
I saw Shaun of the Dead. (I still don't like zombies). I saw it in the theater, by myself, because I don't have weird social phobias about stuff like that. Weirdo.

Didn't you say that she was dressed up like a zombie today? For your birthday party next week?
I am going to go see a horror movie for halloween!! but probably paranormal activity 2 cause it is the only one I know about. so no zombies.
I love seeing movies by myself, but I'm totally a socially bankrupt loser.
I like seeing movies by myself because then I don't have to worry whether the other person is enjoying it. But I can see why some people don't -- I had a roommate who absolutely refused to go to a theater alone. One time after an especially crap film I was giving him a hard time about dragging me to it and he admitted that the first time he went to a film alone as a teen some guy tried to feel him up. I guess I'd be traumatized, too. Luckily my parents warned me of those going-to-movies-alone-perverts when I was a kid and told me to hit them and scream.
Your parents were smart Miriam. Actually, going to see movies alone is one of my favorite things. I have all these rules about how people should watch movies, and it totally stresses me out when people don't follow them. And it super stresses me out when people try to talk to me during the movie. Going alone is so relaxing. I used to feel weird about it, but then I stopped feeling weird and started feeling awesome instead.
I used to like seeing movies by myself, but I would end up being the only one who wasn't part of a group or couple. Wait, correction, I would be the only female who wasn't in a group or couple. There were plenty of guys who see movies alone. Heh, in fact, if you watch for it, you'll notice that two guys who go to see a movie will always put an empty seat between them, some no-homo instinct.
I love talking during movies! Just a little, like snide remarks about something, in the pauses. Would that kind of intra-movie talk be ok?
When our first kid was born we sort of stopped seeing movies in the theater (insert socially bankrupt loser joke here) and started watching more videos. I actually like videos better, because not only are theaters getting really expensive but you can talk through them, pause, go pee without missing anything, rewind, pause, ask somebody to explain what just happened, discuss the relative merits of the movie versus the book, go off on a tangent about something, and finish watching the movie tomorrow.
Theaters kind of stress me out with their rigid rules and all those perverts waiting in the boy's room to cut off your ding dongs with a butter knife.
If I've seen a movie before, it doesn't bug me to have people talk during it, unless I take the movie really personally. It's still kind of unpleasant, though, unless the point is to MST3K the movie. Otherwise, I don't get talking during the movie. It totally ruins the experience to me. I have trouble paying attention to more than one thing at a time. Or, if I hate the movie, I'm fine with the talking. If someone is talking during the movie, to me, it's them saying, "This movie failed. I'm going to be more interesting than the movie." So if I agree, then I don't have a problem with the talking.
The other thing I like to do is stay through all the credits because that's respectful, too. I like to respect a movie. My best friend in high school's family, and then my film professor in undergrad, who I loved, trained me with all these rules. I love the rules. They make movies way better.
Sisterhood! Meredith is awesome! I like seeing movies alone because I hate when people try to talk me, too, even snide comments. Also I like a lot of films that no one wants to see or they don't want to see with me. I understand it is very distracting when everyone else in the theater is taking something seriously and I'm chewing on my hand to keep from laughing, with tears streaming down my face.
They're like fish, man!
I go to see movies alone. Or, I did before I had kids, and now I have to take them with me, and go see shit I'd never watch if I had a choice.
None of you should watch videos with me though. I'm a massive talker. I read the same way. Socky has to put up with me yelling and reading out passages all the time.

Reading is different. That sounds fun.
