Heather I got a comment on my blog the other day about how feminists hate marriage and children how the feminism of the 60s ruined the family and such- but after reading small bits of feminist history in a book and realizing the sort of marriage they were upset about- well, I'd hate marriage and children and family if that was my only exposure to it as well! I don't blame them for being against it. It was awful! In the 50s, women couldn't take out loans in their own name if they were married! And resources for issues like domestic abuse? Nonexistent. Marriage, legally and socially, has made wonderful strides in the past few decades.
