I wanted to hate it too. And I agree that a lot of it is funny, but it's not supposed to be.

I'm actually a big proponent of films that don't follow books, seeing how the two are very different media and attempting a verbatim translation from one to the other would just be unproductive.
I definitely agree that Dan Brown is not an author to be taken seriously, and can completely understand why people enjoy his books. I clearly didn't at the time of writing this review, but I guess that's what reviews are for.
