David And you missed that he made fun of everyone else, too? Including people from his native Iowa (perhaps them more than anyone)?

Apparently you Southerners are just that full of yourselves? Hey, personally I think the South should have been allowed to secede. Well, we'd have immigration problems, because you'd be a third-world country by now, but at least you wouldn't mess up our national politics.

Hope you can find someone to translate this into Southern fer all y'all.

Cheryl Wow - talk about ignorance. Tommy, I thought your review was clever and succinct. I've not read the book yet, but I probably will just so's I can make a shelf called 'tossed out on the lawn.' (Sometimes I like Bryson; often he irritates me.)

Shelley Kresan Cheryl, I would have tossed this in my neighbor's manure pile, but it's a library book.
