about
Peregrin Took, usually known as Pippin, is the distant cousin of Frodo Baggins and one of the members of the Fellowship of the Ring.
Pippin accompanies Frodo from the Shire to Rivendell, where he is chosen as a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. After the breaking of the Fellowship, he is kidnapped by Saruman's Uruk-hai, but he and Merry escape into Fangorn Forest. There, they meet Treebeard and help lead the Ents' march on Isengard.
After they capture Isengard, Pippin is reunited with Aragorn, Gimli, Gandalf, and Legolas. Pippin and Gandalf travel to Minis Tirith, where Pippin swears fealty to Denethor. When Denethor tries to burn both himself and his son Faramir alive, Pippin save's Faramir's life. Pippin survives the War of the Ring and eventually becomes Thain (leader of the Took family).
