Some very good and detailed case studies herein, but some if the simple facts provided, are quite simply wrong. Ganeri should opt for accuracy over making it fun, no doubt it is work like this that so confuses my pupils.

Eg. Tidal waves and tsunamis are NOT the same thing.
Also, volcanoes do NOT "...spurt out fire".

This book was about volcanoes. My favorite volcano fact was that one person had a volcano on their farm. I can't remember their names. It was in Mexico in 1943.

Here is an experiment to do:

You will need two corks for the magma and a jar of honey for the rocks.
A. Cover the corks in honey.
B. Watch them go up like magma, almost.
C. Spread a little bit of honey on bread and devour it. Please, take the corks out first.

That's the experiment.

My favorite way to stop a lava flow is to bomb it.

Although it's a children's book, I quite enjoyed it! You've got facts, trivia's & testemonies in a nutshell, with a certain dose of humor. Ok, sometimes it's silly, but admit it... even the silliest jokes bring a smile to your face ;-)

I was really intrested in volcanos at the time I read this book so i picked it up and read, it was quite intresting but not the best, humor and pictures.
