This is about a young boy called Eddy who goes off to search for his teddy called Freddy in the woods. To his surprise, he meets a gigantic bear in the woods. He sits there wondering how the teddy became so big to cuddle and how he will never fit in his bed. Suddenly he hears a sound of sobbing coming nearer and nearer. Eddy hides behind the big teddy when he is faced by a real gigantic bear who is also looking for his big teddy. He has Eddy’s small teddy. Eventually they each grab their own ted...more

Poor Eddy loses his teddy, Freddy and he goes into the woods to search for him. A dark and horrible wood, where Eddy gets scared. He would rather be in bed with his teddy, Freddy. Eddy tiptoes through the wood until he sees something. It is a GIANT TEDDY BEAR. Surprised at the size, Eddy thinks that teddy is now too big to cuddle or fit in this bed and he looks glum.

Then Eddy hears sobbing and a loud voice, ‘How did you get to be tiddly and small?’ A gigantic bear was stomping towards Eddy carry...more

This short story is a little far-fetched, (why would a child lose his teddy in the “dark horrible” woods?) But, it is funny. The illustrations are decent; the words are big and simple to read. The summary is that a little boy named Eddie has lost his teddy bear, named Freddie in the woods. When he goes to find his teddy he stumbles upon a teddy bear that looks like his Freddie, but is much too large…while trying to figure out what has happened, a giant real bear shows up, who has a problem that...more

I read this book to a Year 1 class and I have to say that the children really enjoyed the story. The storyline had the children engaged, because they were guessing where the bear would be, the children were in suspense. Within the story a little boy loses his teddy. He then thinks that he has found the teddy but it is actually a real life bear. The end of the story is also quite reassuring for the children.

Using this work worked quite well because we centred our English lessons around this story...more

i read this while i was waiting in line to use the bathroom at the best childrens library ever yesterday. this book is a delight. im probably going to spoil it, but its like an 8 page book - theres really no room for dramatic plot twists - imagine somehow losing your teddy bear in a forest (yeah i dont know - it could happen), and then you turn a corner (turn a tree?) and there is your teddy only he is enormous!!! imagine that moment of confusion and terror. have you shrunk?? has the teddy grown...more

Really good! I liked the bear with the little teddy! And he has a bed; that's so funny!

This book would be an excellent book to read to first graders. I like how the words are in big bold letters and in boxes. I think the pictures are good but could use a little more detail. It is kind of boring to just have a bunch of trees and grass and a bear in almost every picture. With doing a lesson with this book I would ask the children if they have something they have special that they sleep with. Like how Eddie had a teddy bear. I would ask them if they ever lost that special blanket, pi...more

This story tells the tale of a boy named Eddy who has lost his teddy named Freddy! Eddy wonders through the woods to find Freddy and stumbles across a teddy who looks like his teddy, but is a huge sized one! Eddy feels sad as he realises that he cant take this big teddy home now as he is too big to fit into his bed! Then, Eddy hears a voice sobbing and talking about their teddy being too small and that the small teddy wont be able to fit into their giant sized bed! Eddy becomes scared and hides...more

Where's My Teddy? by Jez Alborough is a classic Teddy Bear Storytime selection and a fun read-aloud to boot with a fhyming text. Freddy must go into the dark, scary woods to find his lost Teddy. When Freddy finds his teddy, it is HUGE!

This pioturebook is also a good emergent reader, with large type and simple text. The size makes it great for storytimes. The illustration help tell the story and they are quite humourous. For toddlers, preschoolers and K, & 1st for emergent beginning readers.

Sometimes you get lucky in unexpected ways. That's what happened to my kids and me the day we browsed the shelves at our local bookstore a few years ago and came across this gem of a book. It was one that I dind't mind reading over and over to my ever-begging kids. Our copy is now worn and torn, but it's loved more than any other book on our shelf. It's a great story about friendship and love, all mixed together with great humor. Love!!!

Summary: The story is about a little boy who looses his Teddy Bear and goes to look for it in a forest. In the forest he meets a bear with a similar problem. I think this is a good book for children that are attached to something like a teddy bear or a blanket. Toddlers will love this story.

This story tells the tale of a boy named Eddy who has lost his teddy named Freddy. This is a humorous rhyming story that will keep the class laughing and interested. Its a very easy read so children will be able to read it to either themselves or as a class. Young children will love to look at the pictures in the book because it gives a great description of whats going on in the story.

When Eddie loses his teddy, he braves the creepy woods to find him. But when he does find teddy, he's huge! A surprise twist gives this book a funny ending.

Large, well saturated watercolors accompany the story, depicting the forest surprisingly accurately!

Excellent for story time, because of the rhyming, limited text and fun ending. Best for preschoolers and older.

PB:41 Where's My Teddy?. The story turns from serious to even more serious to being really funny. It's funny to see the bear's reaction upon seeing a boy and the last picture is priceless. It teaches children that when they lose something, it's bound that someone else has lost the same thing yet maybe in a different size. One of my favorites!

I remember reading this story as a child and it's a classic! It's a good mystery because the boy Eddy is trying to find his teddy bear. This picture book will definitely keep a child's attention and be enjoyable for children to read and be read aloud to. This story is amazing! Like I said, it is a classic and children will love this picture book.

This a a great story about a giant bear and a boy that get their teddies mixed up when they are lost in the woods. The illustrations help to tell the story and have bold colour and simple. It has rhyming words and these help with anticipation of the story and may help to include the children in guessing the words.

A silly but cute children's story about a little boy that can't find his teddy. My kids had me read this about three times a day until it was returned to the library. My 3 year old and I brought out a big and small teddy bear and we acted out the parts. Good times were had with this book.
Amy

Got this book out the library and my daughter loves it. It is really funny as the bear is looking for his teddy at the same time that the boy in the story is. Words rhyme which makes it more appealing. The images are clear and provide lots to talk about.

This is not my favorite book for kids, but I feel it could capture a kids attention. I felt a little silly reading it out because of all the rhymes. I think there are better mystery books out there but it is still worth having for a young audience.

This fun rhyming story would be a fun book for students to read on their own while they are learning to read. The pictures help us understand the words. The words are mostly short and rhyme so children would be able to read on their own.

This story is filled with rhyming words, and is great for emergent readers. I love the layout of the book, how the author capitalizes certain words, and how there are four different scenes on two pages. Great rhyming words lesson.

I liked this story a lot. It was about a boy who loses his teddy bear. He gets it mixed up with a bear's giant teddy bear. I think students would think it is funny. I could be a good book to read to the class.
Jessie Horcher
This is a great book about a boy and a bear who loses his teddy, but find each other's. They are not the correct size. Its a childhood favorite and there are more stories by the author with the same characters.
Amy
This is the most adorable book ever! A case of mistaken teddy identity leaves a bear and a boy very confused.

The story is hilarious, and the pictures are so adorable. I wanted to cuddle everything on the page.

"Eddie's off to find his teddy. Eddie's teddy's name is Freddie." Eddie heads to the woods in search of his lost teddy-bear and meets an ACTUAL bear! Clever word-play and fun rhymes make for a bear-y unexpected ending.
