I just a book called The Test by Peggy Kern. The main character is named Liselle Mason and she is in trouble. For weeks, she ignored the changes in her body and tried to forget her brief relationship with Oscar Price. The setting takes place in the past about how she got pregnant.

I loved this book I give it an A+ right off the back. I loved the fact that it kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time! The author gets so specific with the character’s feelings. I would recommend this book to mo...more

This book was about a girl named Liselle who told her story about getting Pregnant at the age of 16. Her life was a struggle. The father of her child wasn't supporting her or even seeing the baby. Her mom had to get 2 jobs to support the baby and Liselle's teenage life was over. She doesn't regret it, but she wish she'd waited because she couldn't have fun during her teenage life. Now shes getting her life together and goes to collage and has a job in a...more

What would you have done if you found out you were pregnant? Would you have runaway or just faced your mom and dad? For Liselle Morton she was afraid to face the fact that she was pregnant and she was afraid that her mom would be disappointed in her for not being responsible.

Liselle was a normal girl who went to high school, but like most teenagers she got caught up in something that wasn’t right. One summer Liselle meets up with a guy thinking he really liked her. Little did she know all he w...more

I would recommend this book because it is very interesting. There are a lot of suspenseful moments. This book would be a good read for anyone that is interested in a book that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. Everytime I got through a chapter, I wanted to read more, and I didn't want to stop reading. The title is perfect for everything that is going on in the book because it talks about all of the different kinds of tests the main character faces. I also think that the plot, cha...more

this book is about a valueable teen that learns a valueable lesson on sex and pregnancy. she was 16 when she found out she was pregnant and when she told her baby daddy he ignored her like they never knew eachother. she told her mom and she was very dissapointed at her beacause of the talk they had.

it brings me to the conclusion that teen sex should not be valueable until you reach a proper age and realy know that your ready for that decision. beacause of the teen sex theres at 30% school averag...more

This book is very intense. It’s about a girl named Liselle. She is sixteen years old and goes to Bluford High. She always feels dizzy and nauseous, so one day she went into the girl’s restroom and took a pregnancy test. Liselle couldn’t believe there was a blue plus sign on the test. She read the back of the box and the blue plus sign meant positive. She was in shock as she left the school to go home. She was scared to tell somebody, so she kept it to herself. The next day she fainted in the lun...more

What i thought about The test was that it shows teenagers that you really need to think about the things that you do befor something serious happens . THE test has some many important details about why you shouldn't get pregnant at a young age . Theres so many things that you can do in life but then after you have a baby younger than 20 it messes up your whole life and what you wanted to be when you were 6 years old but then it all changed when you terned 16 .you had you boy friend and your an...more

After reading this book, I discovered that their could be unique situations in one's life when facing teen pregnancy. From the perspective of a girl this book illustrates what a young teenage girl from an urban area would have to face and also gave the reader the ability to understand a unique situation in which darcy would have to face with the father of the baby oscar. Also, the fact that darcy is selfreflecting at this incident that had happened three years before towards the students at bluf...more

A book students will love due to the theme of teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy is not glamorized and the reality picture is portrayed. Teen pregnancy is a serious issue with our students today. Ten times more than it was 20 years ago. We need to talk more with students about teen pregnancy and STD's. Not just one Health class. They need this lesson every semester! No more soap box! Our students will LOVE The Test!

As i was reading the book the test by peggy kern was really good book because it was action and scary because the way it was acting. For example the reason why it was action was beacuse there was some rude girls in the group. And the other reason was that it was scary was that liselle mason was pregnant by her boyfriend at the age 16. I would recommand this book to my sister friend because she had her little son kayden at the age 16 by her boyfriend and she was not expecting it at all. A lesson...more

I absolutely love this book. Liselle is going through what many teens girls will go through. Just by looking at the cover you can already get a hint of what the book is about. Her story is similar to many tv teens and real life teen pregnancy have come out to be. I recommend this book to bluford high fans. This story is breathe taking.

I'm not a fan of the Bluford High series. I understand its for reluctant readers but its too low level for a high school student. However, this book was much better than the first couple of books in the series. Its about Liselle, a 20-year old mom that recounts her learned lessons for a group of at-risk high school girls.

A new addition to the Bluford Series, this book follows the pattern of the others---a realistic teenage situation, the struggle to find a solution, and an ending that is not sugar coated yet hopeful. My students, all struggling high school readers, loves this series, and I do too.

I think this was really good it helps you deal with teen pregnancies it tells them what to do and what not to do like hide it and your mom find out because you fainted in school and if you dont want to tell your parents atleast tell a friend or a school counslor.
Karen
Love the Bluford series for our students! Very realistic portrayal of teen pregnancy - I appreciate that it was handled in a way that was appropriate for my junior high level students yet still eye-opening enough to hit home.
Olivia
This book is the most best book ever . I really like that it explains to young girls that getting pregnant is not the right thing to do at a young age . But overall I love this book
Antonae
I thought that this book was extremly realistic because it dealt with a lot of problems that teenagers nowadays go through. I really enjoyed the book and finished it in 2 days

This book is about a teen mom who goes back to her high school. By her high school principal she is asked to come in and talk to young girl that are potentially at risk of following the wrong crowd. She talks to them for hours telling them her story and what life is like for her, trying to reach out to the girls and help them. This book was interesting because you got to hear a story that was real and relatable.

Peggy Kern was born and raised in Westbury, New York. There she attended the local public elementary and middle schools, where she was one of the few white students in a predominately black and Latino community. Peggy didn’t realize what a unique and valuable experience that was until she transferred to a private high school.

“I was miserable in high school,” she says. “I couldn’t understand why my...more
