Breaking Logan’s Laws is an entertaining, familiar romance. Fans of the Quinn series will be happy to see Nate and Logan finally get together while those new to the series will have no problems picking this book up on its own. The plot involves the missing daughter of a wealthy family specializing in imports. While Nate and Logan scour the city for clues, their natural chemistry keeps their focus on each other and what they’d like to be doing. This offers a lot of sex scenes for fans and the romance is definitely the main focus. Logan and Nate dance around each other, not wanting to get involved for their own reasons, before finally giving into the explosive desire between them.

The story doesn’t end there though as Logan tries to protect himself from falling in love and Nate isn’t willing to let that happen. The case they work on is a good backdrop as it moves the plot along in between sex and emotional scenes. The couple are good together and fun to watch as they circle around each other before finally admitting their feelings. Some of this feels repetitive and the story feels a little long. It drags in some places but added details and scenes about the missing girl case help alleviate that feeling.

Some of the writing may not be to all readers’ tastes though those familiar with this author won’t have a problem. The prose choices tend to be exaggerated and a bit over the top while the descriptions can border on clinical, especially when talking about various sex organs and body parts. This isn’t enough to ruin the book and fans won’t have a problem with this. Overall Breaking Logan’s Laws is a good addition to the series. Fans and newcomers alike should enjoy the heady romance and solid happy ending between two likable and very sexy characters. This is an easy story to recommend.

The story features Logan and Nate from the previous Quinn books. You definitely don’t have to read the previous books to appreciate this one as the characters are peripheral at best in the other books. This time Logan and Nate are paired together on the case of a missing girl. Both men have been suppressing their desire for each other so being thrown together immediately sets sparks flying. Both Nate and Logan are distracted from the case due to their chemistry and when they finally get together, Logan is overcome with emotion and may not be able to fully commit.

The plot is pretty basic with a boy meets boy but doesn’t think they can have each other theme. The mystery portion is actually very good but unfortunately the focus is always on the sexual tension and romance portion. In fact so much so that the mystery is hard to connect to or care about. The various details are interesting and the final resolution pretty good but the characters are distracted by the tension and chemistry so they have frequent mental wanderings all focused on the sex they want to be having instead of figuring out the mystery. The romance is definitely the most important part with the missing girl case a very distant third or fourth in importance. This keeps the mystery disconnected and almost unimportant. It’s what keeps the characters and story moving along but the focus is solidly on the relationship and sex.

There is also a lot of sex in this book. Definitely something to please Dane fans but I found my attention wandering some. Part of this is that I find the erotica writing to be so exaggerated, over the top, and rather corny that I don’t find it that sexy or interesting. The prose tends to use “channel” “chute” “rectum” “fluttering passage” during the sex scenes which always yanks me out of the story with a cringe. Likewise phrases such as “fiery spasms stole control of Nate’s chute” or “Nate squeezed every muscle inside or near his ass, so damn hard he thought he stamped the shape of Logan’s penis into his rectal walls.”

Additionally the emotions tend to be over the top and exaggerated. The love is always so deep its unimaginable while the pain is unfathomable and the pleasure bottomless and endless. Everything is heightened and exaggerated to extremes, especially during the scenes where Nate and Logan declare their love and devotion. This is definitely romantic to be sure but it edges into corny for me somewhat with all the repetition. The various sex scenes feel too similar and Logan’s commitment problem feels played out several times in what feel like identical scenes. This isn’t so bad you want to throw the book but it does slow down the pace and take away some interest in the story.

The main characters are nicely fleshed out and very cute together. They have tons of chemistry and play off each other in sweet ways. It’s too sweet sometimes for me and the melodramatic tone to their emotions makes it hard to connect to them. However for those readers who enjoy a more dramatic love affair to their romance probably won’t mind. I do like Dane’s books and this one fits well with her backlist so fans will want to get this one. Personal taste varies on if BLL’s will be a favorite but the couple is worth reading.

For Logan's first case he's given Nate as an assistant. They've known each other, and been avoiding each other for three years. Nate's all but in love with Logan, who he thinks is straight. Logan thinks Nate is the sexiest thing alive, but he also thinks that Nate is straight. Logan also has five laws he lives by and getting with Nate would break every one of those laws.

So what are two guys to do? I'll tell you what they do; they work a missing person case and wade around in an ocean full of sexual tension. For the first half of the book these two guys dance around each other. Every time they start to get close they're interrupted. A phone rings, somebody walks in, they see a suspect getting away...

The mystery in Breaking Logan's Laws isn't really a main player. It's more of a device. I never really cared about the missing girl or what the outcome would be where she was concerned. I did really like her brother Declan and I hope he gets his own book. I also liked the character of Riley, the brother of another missing girl who gives up his career in law enforcement to find his sister. Riley's another one that I hope gets a book.

All in all I liked Nate and Logan together. Nate could do no wrong. As a matter of fact, he does everything right. Somehow this managed to keep from being annoying. I'll admit that I have a high tolerance for perfection in characters, so while Nate didn't bother me he might bother other people.

Logan is the flawed character but I didn't understand why he was tortured. I thought that it might have been because of the relationship with his ex but it was hinted at that Logan has always been tortured. I still liked Logan though, because he does make an effort to change throughout the book.

With Cameron Dane's books I tend not to question things too much. I just go along for the ride. Fostered Love, Finding Home and Something New are still my favorites from her but Breaking Logan's Law is good. Good enough to re-read? Yes, even good enough to re-read.(less)

Logan and Nate, let me just say HOT HOT HOT. That is how I would describe this couple and this book. It's probably the most complete and complexe investigation she ever created (or any other authors of romance books, for that matter). For me, I enjoyed the suspense thread more and though there were many opportunities for Nate to turn out to be another TSTL MM hero, he was (thankfully) no such thing. When he needed to take off to handle something that came up - and it was expedient to do so - he did go off on his own but would keep Logan informed even though he knew Logan would be having kittens. He didn't take stupid risks and made sure Logan knew where he was. That is a lot more than most MCs do in the romance genre. It's as if you're a MC in a romantic suspense, you have the license to do the stupidest things to endanger yourself.

I love Nate. He's sane, smart and lovable.

For a man who's a few years younger than Logan, Nate was a man who balanced self-confidence with what was realistic. He was never whiny with his demands and the way he carried out his responsibilities showed whatever he expected of Logan as his partner wasn't unreasonable. There was enough in the suspense portion to keep me reading, good enough for me to set aside my complaints about turning hot, intense, emotionally-satisfying sex into a rather tedious chore to get over and done with.

I'd like to see Riley with a book of his own - searching for his missing sister, perhaps? BLL is so much better than the previous Quinn Security ( I Do) which I felt was a bit of a rip-off. If QS Book 4 is another "real" book, I'm definitely buying.

And this is for Kassa: Channel & Chute make several guest appearances in this installment. I came across one that made me go "huh?" - 'confused and fluttering chute'. What the hell is that? It's Nate's chute, btw, and it's not the only time his 'chute' is fluttering either.(less)

This book had the perfect combination on action, mystery, drama, humor and love (and steamy hot sex!)This was my favorite in the series by far. The Characters: I never got attached to the main characters. I felt like I was being told to care when that attachment usually evolves through the narrative. Another big peeve here was that at times they didn't converse like real people. I found myself switching the author's words in my head from the opening chapter and that's never a good sign.

I had been avoiding this book for some time because it seemed to involve police and I hate the stereotypical drama that comes with that. This book wasn't anything like that. In the beginning, when Nate arrived in Chicago he was beaten and bruised and I wanted very much to know the backstory of what had happened to him. This was everything I love about a great Cameron Dane book. Strong, flawed, real men, a well written plot, great secondary characters, hot sex, and a well written story from start to finish. I really enjoyed Breaking Logan's Laws. Melodramatic? Check. Hot sex? Check. Great MC's? Check. Cameron Dane's naughty, purple prose? Check. *Sigh*, makes me happy.

Logan is a former detective & a new hire to Quinn Securities who first met Nate 3 years previously. There is a prologue that shows this meeting. Apparently they've run into each other on different occasions after that but a relationship between the two never developed. Indeed, in this book Nate & Logan besides working together to solve a case, spend the first 40 percent of the story circling & dancing around each other. There's a lot of 'cockblocking' (phones ringing, people interrupting etc) going on. You either like this style or not. In this story, it worked for me. Nate is a very nice, self deprecating & smart guy while Logan is a brooding tortured soul who is trying to live by certain rules or 'laws.' There was good character development & the two had good chemistry together.

The mystery/case to solve of finding a missing girl was fairly average. It does get points for no one acting really stupid, endangering themselves for no reason & each character showed different strengths in the investigating. It does a nice job of showing Nate & Logan working as partners. Once the relationship develops, there is a lot of space given to show each character's growth, strength & them working through their problems.

Unfortunately, at the halfway point we also get into excessively long sex scenes. OK, I'll admit it's probably just a personal preference. But one sex scene went on for 15 pages--15 PAGES! Of the most excessively overly descriptive scene written in the purplest of purple prose with some of the most unique & odd word choices. Afterwards, I was wiped out, and not in a good way.

I was still entertained by the majority of the story & liked the interaction between the two guys. I like the way the author actually have them talk things through like mature men. It made me forgive all the excessive sex scenes. There were some characters that were introduced like Riley, who I wouldn't mind reading more about if he's the next series star. (less)

Former Homicide detective and now head of Security for Quinn Security, Logan Jeffries has five rules when it comes to individuals he dates. Nate Jordan has harbored a secret crush on Logan for over three years, since their first meeting. Now they must work together to solve the case of a missing girl, but will be they able to resist each other?

When I first saw that the latest book in Dane's Quinn Security series was going to feature Logan and Nate, I was ecstatic. I've loved Nate since he first made his appearance in book two of the series. And the glimpse you got of Logan in book three just made me want to reach through the pages and hug him, he seemed so despondent in places. Ms. Dane didn't let me down with this installment.

The book picks up with Logan, now head of security investigations at Quinn after being wounded in the line of duty. On his first day at work, he discovered that Nate Jordan, the brother of his best friend's wife, is his new assistant. Nate has always had a crush on Logan since their first meeting, three years previously, and when assigned to work as his assistant, eagerly jumped at the chance. Together, the two of them have to solve the case of what happened to the missing socialite, Daria Sarna.

Logan reminded me in a way of Gibbs from the TV show, NCIS, with his rules that he used to govern his life (although not quite as crust as Gibbs) and seeing Nate break down those rules one by one was entertaining. I loved the mystery element that was worked into this one, similar to that in book 2, and ultimately did not figure out who had done it, until it was revealed at the end.

The cast of supporting characters, Riley, Declan, as well as Kasey and Canin, made the book an entertaining read. I could see the potential for at least a couple more books in the series, hopefully featuring Riley. My only complaint about the book is that the use of the term chute and channel when it came to the love making scenes between the two of them. There are just some words that don't sound sexy, and those are just two of them.

I'm looking forward to more books in the series in the future (fingers crossed) and hope that they are as entertaining and well-written as this one and the previous ones in the series.(less)

Ms. Dane's Quinn Security series has been good for me. She does a great blend of romantic suspense. There is a case which does get solved. This is very alluring to me. I like how she develops the relationship. Watching Nate and Logan dance around each other was funny.

In this case, Logan is new to the firm and it is a doozy. A former detective, he's turned in his badge to be a PI for his buddy Quinn. Nate is Quinn's brother in law and working at the firm. He's assigned to Logan as an assistant....more

After meeting Nate in the second book of this series, I knew immediately that I wanted to read about his full story and ensure that he got his own HEA. Shortly after starting this book, I was completely and totally head over heels for Nate. I adore a super genuine nice guy and they don’t come any nicer or more genuine than Nate. I love how the author shaped his character and made me feel like he’s the best friend you’d ever want to have.

Logan is definitely a bit more flawed and very much closeted. I’m glad that the book gives us an opportunity to see things from the POV of each character; otherwise Logan would have been a hard man to warm up to. I do love it when the so-called strong and mighty characters fall hard for their partners. Logan fell hard and fast. In fact, it was that depth of feeling he had for Nate that scared the bajeebers out of him and went against his fifth and most stringent of laws. Like I said – love it when they can’t help themselves:)

The fireworks on the 4th of July have nothing on these two men when they finally let down their walls and steam up the place. Holy moly! The sex scenes and overall romance between them is pretty intense. In fact, I was actually a little surprised that Nate almost seemed the more experienced of the two at times – no shyness there despite being a first-timer!!!

I enjoy the added suspense of the cases that are highlighted in each of the Quinn Security books. This story about a missing socialite was done very well and set the stage for some very good angst in the book. There was definitely a thread of the story that was left open at the end and I’m hoping it means we’ll see a continuation of the series. I’d love to see Riley get a story as well as Wes. I’d also love to see Declan from this book get a chance at his own story too. He deserves some happiness after all the crappy things that happened to him.

Love this series and would highly recommend it. In fact, I will definitely come back again and re-read each of these wonderful books!!!

It was a delight to either revisit or see my favorite characters from the first three books – FINDING HOME, THE ULTIMATE KINK and SAYING I DO. More importantly, Ms. Dane introduces and re-introduces some men whose stories I cannot wait to read. Without giving any spoilers, I will say that, with the way things ended in BREAKING LOGAN’S LAWS, I am especially eager to read the energetic Riley’s book.

Cameron Dane never fails to deliver and BREAKING LOGAN’S LAWS is no exception. With action, intrigue and sensuality to spare, Nate and Logan’s story is a definite hit that will please old and new fans of Ms. Dane’s work alike.

Man, I had a hard time with this one. I am a HUGE Cameron Dane fan (she placates my smut craving like all get out) and I have enjoyed this series (with the exception of The Ultimate Kink, which I skipped because ewww girly bits). Unfortunately, this one fell short for me. I had difficulty connecting with Logan or Nate and I found that I just didn't care enough about either to really get into to the story. I really enjoyed this one! I loved Logan. He was so sweet, sexy, strong, and loving. Nate was the definition of a kind soul. I was rooting for the two of them the entire time. I enjoyed the suspense in the story and liked that it gave the two of them a reason to work together. I really liked that they knew each other for several years so it made more sense when they finally connected and hit it off big time. From the very first of the book we realize how overprotective Logan can be in the way he is trying to save Nate when he first meets him all because of the bruises on his body. Poor Nate is so infatuated with Logan I thought them working together would just be extremely complicated, and it was anything but. Nate can somehow cope with it and very well. As far as Logans five rules, lol, rules schmules! Should have known that Nate would tear those all apart. Loved these two together.

It's amazing to me that I buy books by reading the blub and maybe some reviews... and only after I finish the book do I notice who the is author (except when I search for a particular author's work). Several times now, I've noticed after finishing a book it was written by Cameron Dane. I'm going to be adding this author on my list of ones to keep watch of.
