>Read the entire series except The Ultimate Kink

The books are quite well-written, but with several flaws that I can't seem to forgive.

1. The characters tend to read like sexual offenders. I'm not a guy, but I somehow doubt that they get an erection staring at someone they've just met, or just about every time they lay eyes on them.

2. The 'strength of the relationship'/omgjuzrite thing that they feel for each other might be okay for a shifter story where they have a reason to mate for life o...more

The laws of the heart may be the hardest but most rewarding to break. Logan is so used to protecting himself and keeping his life private that it’s instinctive. Although Logan has left the police department and is starting a new career at Quinn Security, old habits are hard to break. Especially when he discovers his new partner is sexy, adorable Nate. Nate has had a crush on Logan for years but is determined to keep it hidden from the taciturn man. When the two are thrown together for days on en...more

Breaking Logan’s Laws is a pretty typical Dane book. Fans of the author should enjoy the story and over the top romance while the somewhat corny style of writing isn’t likely to bother familiar readers. The mystery is eclipsed by the exaggerated relationship which is unfortunate since it has all the elements of being engaging and intriguing. However, the men are cute and sweet together which makes the story fun to read. This is an easy, enjoyable story to read even if it runs a little long with...more

One of the things I've realized about Cameron Dane's books is that every emotion is felt to the tenth power. Marlon Brando, Streetcar Named Desire, kneeling in the middle of the street, yelling "Steeellaaaaa"; that's the kind of intensity Cameron Dane seems to love.

This time around the story is about Nate and Logan. Logan is thirty-six, an ex-detective, in the closet, more than rough around the edges and Quinn's new head of investigations. Logan's like a pitbull. Nate is twenty-eight, out, unbel...more

Logan and Nate, let me just say HOT HOT HOT. That is how I would describe this couple and this book. It was emotional and gritty and I sympathized with both MC's at some point, boy though they were hot. This was the longest book in the series so far and I found myself wanting it to be longer. This is a first for me, I loved another couple in a series where I loved the original. Normally I hate it and it gets 3 or 4 stars. But this couple just blew me away and I am so so glad I took the chance to...more

This book made me realize that Cameron Dane could become a very successful mystery/murder author, if she wanted to. It's probably the most complete and complexe investigation she ever created (or any other authors of romance books, for that matter). The story was well-written and unpredictable, there was so many leads in the investigation that I couldn't tell who was the murderer. I was shocked to learn who killed the victim.

Regarding the romance part of the book, it was really good (as always w...more

3.75 stars. I could have given it 4 full stars if not for the overly-long sex session. The first half (takes place one evening) was well done and brought back memories of a Cameron Dane that hooked me back then with Renecade which I loved. Unfortunately, Logan and Nate continue the next morning and by the time I was done flipping page after page of fucking, I was exhausted. One can have too much of a good thing, after all.

Those who do like their sex to cover several pages won't mind, I'm sure. F...more

I first met Logan and Nate in book three of the series, “Saying I Do”. I enjoyed the characters, especially Logan, a rough and tumble ex-cop who will soon be working for Quinn Security. Nate is a soft-spoken man, brother to one of the owners of the firm. He’s had a hard life (and made a serious mistake that resulted in a beating for him).

This time there’s a mystery to be solved. The disappearance of a young socialite has her family up in arms. Or are they? The brother seems aloof, the mother has...more

Perfect!

This book had the perfect combination on action, mystery, drama, humor and love (and steamy hot sex!)This was my favorite in the series by far. Unlike the first book in which the supporting characters were underdeveloped, this installment had all of the regular series characters plus a slue of new ones, many of whom I have grown quickly attached to(like Riley and Jamie.) All of the characters seems real to me and I felt the relationships were valid and honest.

The mystery portion of the...more

I love Cameron Dane. It's hard to find erotica with an actual plot, but not only do I end up loving her characters, but they do more than just sex each other up the entire time. Don't get me wrong, her love scenes are extremely hot, but she actually tells an interesting story as well.

In this latest installment of the Quinn Security Series, a new member (Logan) is added to the team, one who's been fighting his attraction to Nate for what seems like forever. Both characters have scars that make y...more

This is the third book in the Quinn Security series I read and it's definitely the one I enjoyed the most. Both because of the plot and because of the characterization.

I liked both Logan and Nate and appreciated that, even though Nate was a few years younger than Logan, he was level-headed, knew what he wanted and brought the much needed balance in their relationship. Also, I kind of got why Logan had those laws and why he had to follow them but he could have done away with them much sooner, in...more

Omg, this was so good! I think this one was the best one yet in this series. The mystery aspect was awesome. I honestly did not figure it out. I will not spoil any of the story but I will say this is a great read for m/m fans!

The Characters: I never got attached to the main characters. I felt like I was being told to care when that attachment usually evolves through the narrative. Another big peeve here was that at times they didn't converse like real people. I found myself switching the author's words in my head from the opening chapter and that's never a good sign.

The Sex: Tab A fits into Tab B, then we make the requisite noises (groaning, grunting, moaning...) and whisper sweet nothings (you're so tight, ride me b...more

I had been avoiding this book for some time because it seemed to involve police and I hate the stereotypical drama that comes with that. This book wasn't anything like that. I loved Logan in his strength and in his vulnerability. I loved Nate as he grew and become a loving force with which to be reckoned. The sex was very hot and very real. The mystery and its surprising outcome were definitely action filled and gave me just the touch of cinematic drama I needed. I really enjoyed this book and t...more

Logan and Nate were introduced in The Ultimate Kink and both also made appearances in Saying I Do . In the beginning, when Nate arrived in Chicago he was beaten and bruised and I wanted very much to know the backstory of what had happened to him. Breaking Logan's Laws is the story I've been waiting for. I loved seeing Nate get through Logan's tough outer shell and find the loving man inside.

This was everything I love about a great Cameron Dane book. Strong, flawed, real men, a well written plot, great secondary characters, hot sex, and a well written story from start to finish. I loved everything about Nate and Logan...they are perfect for each other. I love both men's flaws and fears, Logan's "laws" that Nate breaks so quickly, and the mystery plot was great too...kept me guessing until the end. One of the best books I have read in a while, and I can't wait for more. This is my fa...more

I really enjoyed Breaking Logan's Laws. Melodramatic? Check. Hot sex? Check. Great MC's? Check. Cameron Dane's naughty, purple prose? Check. *Sigh*, makes me happy.

Logan is an ex detective (known from previous books). He can be gruff, alpha yet sweet, sexy and has a set of laws that keep him distanced from, potentially, having his heart broken. Since his work related injury had put him on desk duty he quit the force and joined Quinn Security. Now he is heading up a case about a missing girl from...more

RAting: 4.5 stars
A great mystery story. Nate and Logan had a good sexual tension going on and it's just after they did admit to their feeling and started having marathon sex, that cost it half of the star.

Nate is sweet and shy when we first meet him, also he is totaly gone on Logan the first time he meets him, which was somewhat funny. Logan was in a relationship when he sees Nate and did not want to break a good thing. When Logan starts working in the same security company as Nate, as an invest...more

3.5 Stars I probably broke one of the cardinal rules of series reading--don't read out of order-- but I'm not sorry about it. I did skip the prior 3 books in the series, one of which was a mf book, & I don't think I missed too much by doing so.

Logan is a former detective & a new hire to Quinn Securities who first met Nate 3 years previously. There is a prologue that shows this meeting. Apparently they've run into each other on different occasions after that but a relationship between th...more

Ms. Dane's Quinn Security series has been good for me. She does a great blend of romantic suspense. There is a case which does get solved. This is very alluring to me. I like how she develops the relationship. Watching Nate and Logan dance around each other was funny.

In this case, Logan is new to the firm and it is a doozy. A former detective, he's turned in his badge to be a PI for his buddy Quinn. Nate is Quinn's brother in law and working at the firm. He's assigned to Logan as an assistant....more

After meeting Nate in the second book of this series, I knew immediately that I wanted to read about his full story and ensure that he got his own HEA. Shortly after starting this book, I was completely and totally head over heels for Nate. I adore a super genuine nice guy and they don’t come any nicer or more genuine than Nate. I love how the author shaped his character and made me feel like he’s the best friend you’d ever want to have.

Logan is definitely a bit more flawed and very much closet...more

Logan Jeffries may have put down his detective shield, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the field. Now the head of Quinn Security’s investigations wing, Logan is prepared to dive into his first case concerning the disappearance of a young socialite. There’s just one complication; his partner Nate Jordan. Nate is a distraction that Logan can’t afford, not if he wants to keep the truth of his sexuality private and not if he wants to follow the law...more

Man, I had a hard time with this one. I am a HUGE Cameron Dane fan (she placates my smut craving like all get out) and I have enjoyed this series (with the exception of The Ultimate Kink, which I skipped because ewww girly bits). Unfortunately, this one fell short for me. I had difficulty connecting with Logan or Nate and I found that I just didn't care enough about either to really get into to the story. Nate was too chick-with-a-dick at times and Logan ran so hot and...more

I really enjoyed this one! I loved Logan. He was so sweet, sexy, strong, and loving. Nate was the definition of a kind soul. I was rooting for the two of them the entire time. I enjoyed the suspense in the story and liked that it gave the two of them a reason to work together. I really liked that they knew each other for several years so it made more sense when they finally connected and hit it off big time. I also really liked that she let them admit their feelings to each other without any hor...more

From the very first of the book we realize how overprotective Logan can be in the way he is trying to save Nate when he first meets him all because of the bruises on his body. Poor Nate is so infatuated with Logan I thought them working together would just be extremely complicated, and it was anything but. Nate can somehow cope with it and very well. As far as Logans five rules, lol, rules schmules! Should have known that Nate would tear those all apart. Loved these two together.

It's amazing to me that I buy books by reading the blub and maybe some reviews... and only after I finish the book do I notice who the is author (except when I search for a particular author's work). Several times now, I've noticed after finishing a book it was written by Cameron Dane. I'm going to be adding this author on my list of ones to keep watch of.

Breaking Logan's Laws (Quinn Security)
I am an air force brat and spent most of my growing up years living overseas in Italy and England, as well as Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and Virginia while we were stateside. I now live in Florida once again with my big, wonderfully pushy family and my three-legged cat, Harry. I have been reading romance novels since I was twelve years old, and twenty years later I still adore them. Currently, I have...more
