As much as life has irrevocably changed since the death of his father, much has stayed the same for Cam. He's always had a great deal of responsibility around the house, but the burden is heavier now in combination with the load of grief he's been carrying. After the man who was driving the truck that killed his father turns up at the end of the driveway, Cam feels pressur ...more

This book wasn't bad in a long shot. In fact these Orca books are pretty cool and pack a lot of excitement for such a short story. This book is no exception. Cam's Father's killer now stalking the family.
I can't come up with stuff like this. reading through three quarters of of the book and I love it! It's fast paced and exciting and to add more drama Cameron tries to act like the man of the house. (Which I disagree with. But I respect the authors choice of adding it in.)
Why two stars then? Yo

Since his father was accidentally killed six months earlier, teenager Cameron has tried to be what everyone tells him to be: the man of the house. It’s not easy taking care of the house and his little seven-year-old sister, yet it’s what he did even before his dad died. Cam’s dad was always too engrossed in his financial work to pay much attention to their house or family. Things start changing for Cam one day when a strange man starts shoveling the snow from their driveway and he learns that it ...more

Cam is trying to keep his household running the way it did before his father was killed in a traffic accident, but it is difficult. His mother is tired and his younger sister requires a lot of his time. When a strange man shows up at his house, he finds out that it is the man responsible for the death of his father. This man wants to help out; shovel snow, do the sorts of things for the family that their father can no longer do. This freaks Cam out, and he needs to find a way to help that man un ...more

This book takes place in a strange time. By that I mean, I would figure a strange point in Cam (the character)'s life to create a novel. Beyond repair is following Cam's life post his father's death.
How the responsibility seem to weigh heaver, maybe even to the extent of being more brute with his sister. It shows the stress a young man can undergo. Cam even describes himself to wonder if he is paranoid. His father's killer, who made the news, seems to be following Cam's family. Sure his father,

This Orca Currents title will be enjoyed by boys who are reluctant readers. Cam's father suddenly dies; being hit by a car as he crossed the street between two cars. Cam has really stepped up and is helping his mother with lots of errands, food shopping and taking care of his annoying younger sister. But when he comes upon his mother arguing with a man in front of their home, he later finds out this is the man who killed his father! But Cam begins to see this guy at many different places and won ...more
A Book Vacation

This is a very interesting coming of age novel. While one could argue that it is about a young man dealing with a possible stalker, it is so much more than that. Cam must step up and protect his family, but he must also deal with the emotional angst that is eating away at his soul. At the same time, he must decipher fact from fiction and control his overactive imagination before it gets the best of him.

I really enjoyed following Cam on his journey to manhood as he tried to make sense of his tor

Beyond Repair
The story is about Cam, a boy that must now be the man of the family after his father is accidentally killed. It revolves around how Cam deals with his new responsibilities, and also with the attention of the man that killed his father. Even though Cam sees the man as a stalker, the man is trying to come to terms with the guilt he feels for what he has done to Cam’s family. He’s trying to make amends by helping Cam and his family, in ways he feels the father he killed, would have d

I was waiting for a more shocking climax or ending, but instead what I got what a semi-thoughtful few pages when a boy confronts the man who accidentally killed his father. The story was mildly entertaining with a family struggling to cope with their father/husband's death, yet a man has now begun stalking the family. Ultimately it's the killer who is trying to make right what was wronged but he learned that neither "men" can help the other to make themselves whole again.

I didnt realy like this book because it seemed boring.I would recommend this book to people who like mysteries. In this book this families dad got hit by a truck and got killed. The guy that hit him is starting to stock the family the son thinks and he tells him to stop and the guy said he is just tying to help with things that there dad would be doing if he was alive. But they said he never helped with stuff around the house when he was alive so they don't need help now. at the end the guy lea ...more

Quite short, but okay as a quick read. I read it in a day. The plot was pretty good, and the writer captured the paranoia element pretty well. It sort of reminded me of "Soldier's Home" by Earnest Hemingway in the sense that day to day life activities change when you are emotionally damaged. I don't know if I said that right. Oh well. 3.5 stars.

This book was really slow to start, I never was really hooked in the beginning and was thinking about abandoning the book but like on page 50 it started to catch up and become the scary and mysterious book. It was a alright book and was scary like I like it but it should of started a little faster.
