Mr. Nathaniel Travers has been visiting Madame Delacroix's brothel for five years. On every visit, he requests the same man. Stunningly handsome and highly skilled, Jasper not only shares Nate's fondness for wickedly erotic games and black leather corsets, but he's become a friend. Someone he can talk to. Someone he can share a supper with. And

I know that Ava March is quite prolific in MM historical romance genre ... but I never read anything by hers, simply because I tend to not paying attention to historical genre in the first place. Because of her number of titles released already, I thought Ava March would be good for my personal November MM Historical challenge.

I picked up this title because Heather C said that it was the only one she gave 5-stars to, even if she enjoyed the others. She also warned me about the smutty factor sin

I can’t believe I’m about to say this but… there’s a little too much angst in this one for me. But more to the point, there are certainly not enough corsets!

CORSET TEASE more like.

His Client is a similar story to All in with the Duke just not as well executed. Jasper’s a prostitute and Nate has been his client for the past 5 years. Jasper’s fallen in love with Nate but Nate is in love with his best friend, Edmonton, who is straight aside from once letting Nate blow him when they were k

This book is hard to review and I won't give it any raiting, because it's a good and solid book per se, but I haven't been satisfied with the MC's relationship.

Maybe it's just not my cup of tea, but I couldn't connect with Nate. I immediately loved Jasper - he's great - but I didn't get Nate at all.

The beginning was great and promising, but then for the 2/3 of the book Nate'd continued pining for Peter, Jasper retired and then suddenly Nate realised, that he's in love with Jasper, not Peter. An

This is by FAR my favorite Ava March story to date. Something about this story line pushed ALL my buttons and everything worked for me. The kink, the heat, and the sweet! Perfection!

I absolutely loved this book. I haven't read a historical in quite some time. The reason for this is whenever I'd start one, it wouldn't hold my attention long enough to get far in the book but since I absolutely love books with unrequited love, I decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did because I was riveted throughout the whole story.

Jasper and Nate have known each other for five years, ever since Nate came to the brothel to fulfill a desire he couldn't get satisfaction from elsewhere.

The cover is hot, but I'm not judging the book by its cover.

I like m/m historicals. I know that the couple will never be able to show to the world that they are in love and that there's always the danger they'll be hanged. But the historical setting creates a whole different atmosphere with candle lights, the fire place, the layers of clothes. I like Ava March's stories of unrequited love and her characters with their kinks. I could read all the variations of her stories book after book after bo
I like Ava March’s work. I can’t help it. I don’t know her, and I don’t like BDSM as a rule, but there’s something about March’s writing of the subject that gets under my skin and makes it tingle.

This is no exception, and I can say hand on heart that if you liked her other work, you won’t be disappointed with this.

It’s a tart-with-a-heart story. Jasper is a whore of ten years, a man who already has enough money to set himself up in a decent house and retire, but he hasn’t for one simple reason,
Jasper has been working at Madame Delacroix’s brothel where he has been catering to men for a decade. Most of these men are fat and bloated and ones Jasper hates servicing. But her has made a good living off of being a prostitute and has a nice, tidy savings to help him retire to the country even though he’s not even thirty. He has one client he enjoys being with–Nathaniel Travers, who always asks for Jasper whenever he visits the brothel. Nathaniel has been a client of Jasper’s for five years. ...more
First of all, I like Ava March books, which is why I bought this. She's never let me down, though I often think the books should be some much longer/ more in depth for the amount of money I paid. And as far as her books go, this one is longer than most.

BUT. As beautiful as her writing is. As much as I love her characters. As much as I feel she weaves a brilliant story that has me hooked -- I swear to God, I'm taking a stand that I will not overpay for a damn book of hers again.

Because ultimately

I really loved this one. Jasper was a terrific guy - I really felt for him and the situation (both his job and his feeling) he was in. Nate joined my "needs a slap up the side of the head" club. He was so focused on Peter, he never took the time to look at anyone else around him.
I liked this one, but didn't love it.

The sexytimes were intense and hot, and the angst of unrequited love (the prostitute for the client, but the client for his straight and clueless best friend) was palpable. I had a hard time getting on board with the resolution, wherein the client, Nate, just "realizes" that Jasper is the one he wants, after all. One part I found rather comical (in an unfortunate way) occurred when Jasper said one of the things he most admired about Nate was his loyalty and
This was a good read. It's got a prostitute hero, and the other hero (since this is M/M) is his client, which is an awesome setup for me. The sex was hot and the angst was there. It was really interesting that the prostitute didn't have a particularly troubled past, just very poor and neglected, but didn't seem really worse for the wear. He seemed to have a decent view of his own self worth, despite obviously being aware of his status in society. In fact, the "tortured" one of the pair was the w ...more

I liked it, but I had some pretty major concerns from the beginning that I don't feel were adequately addressed for my faith in their lasting happiness together. Yes, these guys have a five-year history together before swearing HEA, which would usually give me great confidence in their long term viability. But this wasn't a five-year relationship of equals, even with all the conversation.

From what's described, Nate talks and Jasper listens. It's almost a therapist-patient sort of relati

★★★ 4 Stars !★★★

Loved this story! I loved Jasper especially. He's sweet and adorable. Easy to love.
No wonder Nate unconsciously bond to him.
That BLIND Nate! Grrrr !!

This is what I need when I'm desperately looking for historical short story that's NOT an F/M. Lol

The sex was kinky, arousing and OMG I wet my panties ... what a fantasy, and somehow, it was hot as hell!

A little cheesy, mushy kind of story but Oh My !Ain't we all need it ? !

Recommended !

Very good kinky Regency m/m romance about a prostitute who's had enough to retire for a while, but stays on at the brothel because he's fallen in love with one of his clients - a client who's been pining for his straight best friend since they were at university together.

Jasper is a prostitute at Madame Delacroix’s brothel serving the needs of clientele that not only prefer the company of men but also those with more eccentric tastes in the bedroom. But Jasper looks forward to his time with one client in particular. During the time he has worked at the brothel Jasper has developed a fondness for Nate. Nate has confided in him over the years and as a result Jasper has come to think of Nate as a friend and has even secretly fallen in love with him. However he is f ...more

This was a good book but not a great book. I liked it but there were a few problems with the book. The fact Nate loved Peter at the beginning of the book (or thought he did) and was paying Jasper for sex at the same time. Another problem was the fact he would not get his head out of his ass sooner and treat Jasper better. Jasper was a sweet character but I hated the fact he did what he did. He was always madly in love with Nate and he put up with his attitude and moaning. I really loved the way ...more

I don't usually choose historicals to read but I'm glad I picked this up on the advice of GR friends. This is the story of Jasper, a London brothel worker, i.e., whore, who falls in love with his client, Nate, even though he knows it's hopeless. (view spoiler)

I enjoyed the setup of the story and, of course, the HEA. This is going o

It is simply my favourite regency historical MM romance. It is well written, the characters are amazing, their chemistry is incredible, the story is beautiful, the sex is great, and I could go on and on and on... It is a great book. Keeper. In my opinion, the best of Ava March's books.

Favorite Quote: “I shall miss you.” More than you shall ever know.

Jasper has been serving Nate at Madame Delacroix’s brothel for the past five years. Nate has been a little bit of a different client for Jasper. He doesn’t demand sex right away. They share conversations, sometimes a meal. Jasper knows the intimate details of Nate’s life, and has to remind himself that this is not love they share between each other – only lust and pound notes. This isn’t the only way Nate is different however. Nat
It was a sweet story although it does resemble her "Bound" series in terms of angst and lack of communication leading to misunderstandings. The only things I had a problem with was Nate's quick switch of affections from Peter to Jasper and how quickly Jasper came to realise his long held dream was actually going to become reality.

But I very much enjoyed the first half where both Nate and Jasper took turns to voice out their torments and misplaced hopes. And how skillfully the author portrayed ea

Overpriced and somewhat formulaic.
Too short a book to like. I am turned off by this book because of the price and that I don't really think these characters or the storyline was given the justice they were due. What I mean by that is, that in my mind, the emotional investment of either character seemed was in excess of what the reader was allowed to see or share. In my opinion this is lazy writing and shoving a book out to fans and new readers for a high price but not thinking of how it will be
It was different. I absolutely didn't expect what was inside! Yeah, I've heard about sex scenes. But I had never read about that kind of... games? It was funny after all, so I don't regret reading it.

The love story... I feel divided. I liked Jasper pretty much, but not sure about Nate. It's not because he is self-absorbed in his own feelings and doesn't notice Jasper's. I understand that he's broken by the prospect of his best friend getting married, because he thinks he's in love with him. No,

I'm a sucker for rentboy stories - especially when there's a bit of crossdressing and light BDSM thrown in. The sex was sizzling and the characters had great chemistry. I couldn't help wishing for just a little more world-building around the secondary characters - many of whom are just mentioned rather than being fleshed out. Still, that would have made it a very different kind of story. Here the focus is very much on the erotica, although with plenty of emotional turmoil to spice things up.

I love historical fiction and Ava March tells the story of a privileged Duke, Max, and a lost soul and a male prostitute, Tristan, during the regency period. The author brings both of them to life beautifully and conveys their connection in the bedroom of the upmarket brothel extraordinarily well.

The fine detail of the setting is perfection, and March uses language which fits the era but isn’t so distant that it makes it hard work to read. The pages flow gracefully, and her ability to build up t
Mr Nate Travers, nephew to a viscount and inheritor to a small shipping company, has been visiting Mme Delacroix genteel brothel for five years. Though he's madly in love with his best friend, Peter Edmonton, he contracts the services of Jasper Reed exclusively during those five years. Nate and Jasper play sexy and wonderful games, using costumes and their own acting abilities to satisfy themselves thoroughly. Jasper, of course, falls completely in love with Nate, although he is never given the ...more

I tend to turn to Ava March whenever I'm in the mood for Regency romance ... I like her style and her characters ... there is usually a twist to keep the trope fresh and she adds enough personal hygiene to avoid the squick of unwashed dangly bits that I've read in other books ... this is typical Ava March and as such, highly recommended ... my only complaint is that the sugar-kink aspect wasn't explored more ...
Just loved this historical. Jasper, a whore at Delacroixs, has enough to retire, yet stays for the opportunity to continue to see Nate, nephew to a viscount and object of Jasper's unrequited love. Nate loves another, and Jasper is always there for him. Jasper listens, supports, cares and satisfies, hoping for love in return yet knowing they are worlds apart. He is so sweet, so heart breaking.

Ava March is an author of sexy, emotionally intense M/M historical erotic romances.
