This is probably the most overlooked of all the Anne Calhoun stories so far. On the surface, it's just a short, kinky little tale. But in Calhoun's talented hands, it becomes a story of trust; and that defining moment when a semi-serious sexual relationship becomes 'the real thing' between a man and a woman. I liked it...

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. I'd read and loved Liberating Lacey not too long ago, and it's one of my favorite erotic romances out there because of all the emotion and plot she managed to pack into that book. (If you haven't read it, you should. It's so well done!)

Oh I would have loved this to be full length. The story is complete within the novella, but I was captivated by the characters and the story. I don't qualify as an expert in whether this is BDSM or erotic, so for what it's worth, I call it both. Loved the hero, great heroine. He is a navy SEAL, she comes from care, abandoned by her father, then her mother...so not surprisingly has trust issues.

Tess has trust issues. So why would she date a Navy SEAL who leaves at a drop of a hat and she has no idea when he will return? As a SEAL, Drew is very protective of Tess. She doesn't live in the best neighborhood and has certain rules for her when he's out of town. The beginning of the story had me rolling my eyes, since I didn't have any real insight into the characters' personalities. Navy SEAL Drew Norwood has very few rules or requests for his girlfriend Tess Weston, but the one he wants followed mostly is keeping her windows and doors locked and closed at all times. He only wants her safety in a rough neighborhood and he doesn't think that is a hard rule to follow until he comes home from a mission to see the upstairs windows wide open. To make sure she understands this rule when he presented it to her, he told her the consequences of not doing it: a spanking.

Thought it was great! Short but fun. I liked the hero - maybe I need to read more Marine/Navy SEAL romances, heh. The only thing that nagged me was the scenario. My A/C went out for a week last summer and when it's 95 in the house, if my husband even thought about touching me, I'd have killed him dead. So all the sexytimes while dripping with sweat in a ridiculously hot house was just fantasyland, but I like Anne Calhoun's writing so much that I didn't care.
Bit of a waste of time. I don't think I do very well with stories where I'm catapulted into a situation and all the getting to know each other stuff is woven in later. Or maybe I just didn't buy the whole I'm spanking you so you'll trust me story line. Calhoun is a smooth writer but perhaps her stories are not quite fish and not quite fowl, for me.

Recommends it for:
Fans of erotic quickies featuring a military hero
Lots of potential with this one, but unfortunately too short for me to fully connect with the characters. I like this author's writing style though, and I'm curious enough to try one of her full-length books. The sex scenes were pretty steamy and the Navy SEAL hero was a bit bossy and intense, but I liked him...and the heroine! 3 1/2--4 stars

A quick, fun read. A hot summers night, Tess´s AC stopped working and she´s left her windows open, something she promised her boyfriend she wouldn´t do, but what he doesn´t know won´t hurt him, right? Alpha male and fluffy smut.

I love everything else I've read by Anne Calhoun, but this one didn't do it for me. I won't give it a low star rating, because I think it was well written. It just made me uncomfortable.
Seriously!?!? That was WAY TOO SHORT not worth even $0.99....Dont waste your money unless this story is FREE....really feel like i got ripped off now that i read it. ugh!
I loved this book, and I completely fell for Drew (who happens to be a Navy SEAL, and totally hot). It was a nice light fun read, with a bit of domestic discipline, that fit perfectly into the story.
There was more depth to this erotic short story than I expected from the blurb. An interesting, well-written look at the deepening of a relationship.

Hot and sweet. While being short, it still managed to convey when their relationship hit a turning point, and Tess knew she could really always trust and rely on Drew. I'd love to see a continuation of their relationship in a longer book.
