Agatha Christie was right. Very few of us are what we seem. And in Run to You, the new romantic suspense novel by Sarah Ballance, somebody in the quiet little beach resort where Mattie James goes for a getaway is not what they seem. Somebody in the little community is a cold-blooded murderer.
I love gorgeous hunks and was immediately gulping down the story when Mattie, a rebel with a cause, agrees to go on a vacation to the beach with her long-time buddy, ex-lover and would-be boyfriend, the goo...more

Suspense and love at the Carolina Coast? This sea-side adventure story has it all!
I can picture it now; Sarah Ballance's scenic words in Run to You melted into a graphic story to encourage the imagination in this mysterious love triangle romance.
Mattie James, the daughter of Senator James, is a Raleigh, NC socialite, who has the worst luck with men. She has been hiding out at her friend Hutch's place after the tabloids caught her throwing a drink in the face of her two-timing lover.

Run To You has all of the elements that are needed to make an awesome romance story: beautiful and independent heroine, gorgeous hero who’s the silent type, sexual tension, mysterious murder, and crazy villain. It is a well written romance that delivers on all of these elements and the result is a romantic suspense that will keep you engrossed from beginning to end. The heroine, Mattie, is a rebel daughter of career politician who is determined to live life on her own terms. She is plucky, humor...more

I first encountered Ms. Ballance not too long ago when I read and reviewed her debut novel, DOWN IN FLAMES. A new writer on the scene, I was instantly enamored with her rich prose and characters, not to mention the way she crafted tension. When I learned she had another release on the horizon, I eagerly set out and put it at the top of my TBR list. Spoiler alert: Ms. Ballance did not disappoint.

I love the beach, especially in storms. I love romance. I love a good who-dunit. So I loved Run to You by Sarah Ballance!
The romantic in me loved Sheriff Wyatt Reed---down-to-earth, hometown, well-built hunk with sexy gray eyes, the kind of man I'd adore in real life--and his chemistry with Mattie James, the rich-girl-rebel who is the heroine of the story. The two meet when Mattie agrees to tag along with her long-time friend, Daniel "Hutch" Hutchins. Instant attraction. I found myself attracted...more

The synopsis of this story is somewhat misleading, because Senator’s daughter Matilda “Mattie” James doesn’t jump at the chance to spend the week at a seaside resort community with her best friend and confidant Daniel “Hutch” Hutchins, he persuades her to go. The mansion with an ocean view that Hutch has procured through someone he “knows” is optimal to provide Mattie an escape from the media frenzy surrounding an acrimonious break-up with her latest fiancé. It is off season and the homes in the...more
This was by far the best suspense novel I've read in quite some time. The characters were funny, witty and Sarah-Ballance-sarcastic, and the plot was wonderful. You could feel the terror and fear at times, the steamy scenes made me a bit warm but not in a TOOO MUCH way, and by the end, I was so turned around wondering who done it that the ending was an excellent surprise!! I literally laid my head down on the desk and kept reading this one long after I should have been in bed asleep.

This novel is one that I can't help but paw through multiple times. There's something about the grim stormy ocean, a love triangle and a series of murders that you just can't help but be attracted to. The love triangle is believable, as the best friend and the handsome sheriff butt heads over the attractive female of their attention, Mattie. Just like the waves on a storymy sea, you can't quite put your finger on who the murderer is until you reach the high energy climax, which dissolves into a...more

RUN TO YOU is so exciting. It's filled with murder, twists and turns and romance. This has to be the best romantic suspense novel I've read in quite some time. I love a good who-dunit. I love the beach, especially during dark threatening storms. I love a good romance, and Sarah Balance has written the perfect book to combine all of those elements.

Couldn't put this one down. I loved it. It had me guessing from the first page to the last. The characters were so well written, I felt like I was right there on the beach with sand between my toes. (maybe even running from a serial killer!) Wyatt is one sheriff that can frisk me anytime. ;) This is a fantastic read - get yourself a copy and enjoy your weekend. Well, what are you waiting for?

Sarah lives a charmed life as the mother of six incredible homeschooled children, all of whom are completely adorable when they're asleep. Her husband of many years (long, long years, he calls them) is the kind of guy who could teach those heroes from the books a thing or two about romance, not that he'd readily admit it. Completely supportive of her love for writing fiction, he's generously offer...more
