ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!

Not that I had any doubt what so ever that I would love Jackson and his story just as much as the previous two, but I believe this one was my absolute favorite! I mean seriously, can you just picture this beautiful, yet lethal cowboy lounging on your front step when you arrive home? I loved this one as much as I did the first time around, probably more!....Jackson is just to die for and I enjoyed the chase and retreat from the H/h.

Savor the Danger was my favorite of this series by Lori Foster so far. There is essentially one reason for this, one reason only. JACKSON SAVOR ! Damn! All that southern charm is enough to melt the panties of any woman! We got a little taste of Jackson in book 2 of this series and that was definitely enough to make me look forward to this book.

I fell in love with Jackson’s sarcastic, fun and laid back attitude in Trace if Fever, and Savor the Danger just bumped up my obsession with him! He’s passionate, protective, charming, sexy and another alpha to add to the delicious list of Foster men. His southern drawl and cowboy hat *drool* definitely had me getting all hot and bothered! Jackson's whole attitude revolves around Alani, his feelings for her and her traumatic kidnapping by human traffickers; and the internal dialogue when it came to trying to figure out a woman's mind (Alani) was hilarious and added a fun element to some emotionally tense scenes.
Alani was a great heroine as well, I loved her just as much as Molly (When you Dare); she was smart, a little quite and innocent but when it came to the important things in life she knew how to put her foot down and take a stand. The person she strives to be, and eventually grows into, is admirable and I don't think you could dislike this heroine even if you tried! Alani is innocents in a lot of ways though and Jackson handles all the hurdles with sensitivity and compassion. There were so many layers to his character and Foster revealed each one masterfully.
Jackson and Alani’s chemistry set the pages on fire and you could feel the sizzle in the air when these two got together. Pages were literally smoking in my hands when they got between the sheets!

Lori Foster pens a delicious tale with mystery and suspense, action and danger, tying in events from the first novel, When You Dare, and slowly unraveling the story of Alani’s traumatic abduction. Dealing with the real life issues of PTSD and human trafficking, you have no trouble connecting with the characters of the story and sympathizing with them. I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.
Past characters arrived on page to help this duo out in more ways then one, and I loved seeing more of Dare *sigh* and Trace. Entertaining ‘girl talk’ between Molly, Priss and Alani had me laughing out loud and the ribbing these men give each other was priceless. The dialogue was both smart and witty. New characters were introduced as well and I cannot wait to see more of Arizona, and especially Spencer, in A Perfect Storm.

Calling all romance book junkies, you need to read this series! I was glued to every page and literally devoured Savor the Danger in no time at all. Drop what you’re reading and go get these books today! Savor the Danger is pure perfection!

As if any of us would run from Jackson! The first 2 books in this series have been enjoyable, the characters are all interesting people and it’s been a nice progression – at the end of book 1 I looked forward to book 2. At the end of book 2, I was even more anxious to get to book 3 and Jackson. Jackson blew everyone out of the water, and I fell so hard for the guy. We had a little introduction to Jackson in TRACE OF FEVER and the man does not disappoint. He makes it known pretty much from the start that he wants Alani. It’s safe to say that Alani is a bit more cautious, more wary and hesitates to start anything with Jackson at the end of book 2. Cut to the beginning of SAVOR THE DANGER and we open to one of the most entertaining scenes and a very awkward morning after for Jackson, waking up in bed with a very naked Alani and having no clue what happened the night before. He wakes up horribly sick and realizing that he was drugged leads us into their adventure of finding out who would do this and why. Jackson quickly comes to understand that while he may have been drugged, those around him, Alani and Arizona (more on her later) are in just as much, if not more danger.

One of the things that stood out most for me in this book was how relationship driven the entire story was. The suspense is there, but it played out more as a “who done it” and we go along for the ride with Jackson, Alani, Trace and Dare as they try to put the clues together. We get no real sense of who the enemy is, nothing from their POV before the final showdown, and it really helped keep the focus on Jackson and Alani, which I loved!

Jackson, I sighed (good sighs people, good!) so many times during this book. He’s the guy you want protecting you and the one you want to hug and take care of all rolled up into one delicious package. No matter how badass Jackson was being, there was always something very sweet about him, just under the surface. Publicly, he’s a man who shows people his easy-going yet always responsible, playful, flirty self. But privately, he’s a man who’s building his own home, putting down roots he didn’t even realize that he wanted, he takes in strays (of both the human and feline variety) and he comes to know pretty fast that he not only wants Alani in his life, but needs her in it.

He looked at her, and it was beyond lust. Beyond mere attraction. Beyond anything familiar.
Beyond anything comfortable.
In the past twenty-four hours, he’d run the gamut of emotions, from tormented and furious, to hot and possessive to demonstrative and…needy.
Shit.

Alani struggled after her capture and rescue to just feel comfortable in her own life again. Jackson brings her back to life, helps her feel and they proved to be a perfect match.

My Chris love still burns bright and strong, and it was great having all the characters back and playing strong roles, but this book was Arizona’s introduction and she makes a big impact. Without going into spoiler territory, she’s in Jackson’s life and she’s someone that causes him a bit of anxiety (and heartburn, she’s a feisty one!) when he wonders how exactly to explain their history to Alani, but she worked her way into Jackson’s heart and I have no doubt she’ll do the same to readers as well. I can't wait to get her story.

SAVOR THE DANGER gets 4 big stars – Jackson and Alani had me laughing, sighing, and cheering for them from the start.(less)

Alani is also confused. The Jackson that romanced her into bed last night is not the Jackson she woke up with. She misunderstands everything he says and does and immediately thinks badly of him when he claims to not remember anything of the night before. What they did? What he said? All her insecurities about men return in full force and she cannot get out of there fast enough.

Later that day, barely recovered, Jackson seeks Alani out to try and get a handle on what exactly happened. Trace and Dare arrive and between the four of them they are able to conclude that Jackson had been drugged. Alani tells them that when she arrived at Jackson’s place a woman was just leaving. Jackson is clueless about who the woman could be and he also has no idea why anyone would be out to get him. It’s clear, though, that since Alani was seen at Jackson’s place, she could be targeted as well, so Jackson is charged with protecting Alani and keeping her safe. No hardship for him, at all.

I smiled, giggled and laughed through the first part of this book. Jackson cannot believe that he’s finally been with Alani and he can’t remember it. He pesters her with detailed questions about their night together. He is unrelenting in his quest to have Alani give him a literal play by play of their night together.

“How many times did I have sex with you?”
Thrown a little, she did a double-take. “I don’t know.”
He groaned. “Way to wound me woman. You’re saying it was so forgettable, you couldn’t keep track?”
Ready to clout him, Alani growled, “Five times.”
“Five! No shit?” He grinned. “That’s a personal best for me.”

Important clues reveal themselves forcing Jackson to reveal things from his past to Alani. He’s reluctant to do so, worried about her reaction. But Alani continues to surprise him as she takes in each new piece of information about Jackson’s past in stride. As the pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place, Jackson and Alani along with Dare and Trace move forward with a plan to draw out the villains. Just when you think the conflict is resolved Ms. Foster throws a kink into it and you’re drawn into the action once again for a very satisfying end.

Of the three books released in this series to date, this was my favorite so far. While the story continued with the human trafficking theme we’ve seen in the previous two books, this installment had a much lighter tone to it, while still providing action and suspense until the very last pages. There are many humorous moments, especially at the beginning, but they continue throughout; many of them at Jackson’s expense. I really liked Alani. She had that “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” attitude. Having survived being kidnapped by a human trafficking organization, she knows how lucky she is to be alive and she refuses to let what happened slow her down. She didn’t take any alpha male crap from Jackson; rather she stands up to him not really defying but making him ‘ask’ rather than ‘order’ her when he needs her to do something. She did grow up with Trace, after all, and knows her way around an overprotective man. Jackson was awesome, as I knew he would be when he was introduced in Trace of Fever. He is just as skilled as Dare and Trace, but his personality and calm exterior will fool the enemy to think they have the upper hand when we know that is not the case at all. We meet the H/H for the next book in this one, and having had a glimpse of the heroine, I’m very much looking forward to their story.

This book is everything I would expect in a Lori Foster book and in a romantic suspense book – it is steamy, there is a nice romance and some decent action. The steam factor is nice, but there is substance to the story as well. The male character is instantly likeable and the female character is someone I would want as a friend. The setting is wonderful, much of the book takes place in a rural setting which is beautifully described and simply idealic.

The male main character is Jackson, unlike Dare and Trace in the first two books, Jackson is casual in dress, casual in his lifestyle and has a bad boy background. In a way, Jackson reminded me of Sam Starrett from Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooter series. Alani is the female main character; she is a very likeable character and Trace’s little sister. I have liked all the female characters in this series, I have read reviews where some readers have strongly disliked either Molly (from #1 in this series) or Priss (#2 in this series), but I have enjoyed how Ms. Foster has deviated from a standard of female protagonists and female ideals – to introduce unique characters with their own agendas. Alani is no different, Alani may be tuned into the lifestyle Jackson has and thus is understanding in the need for security and privacy but she is a strong character with her own character and her own ideals. I tend to not like the virgin storyline, I just do not find it believable even in how it was set up in this book – I just can’t accept it. But it was well done and for the sake of enjoying the book, I was able to suspend my doubts and just go with the story.

One of my pet peeves in pop fiction, romantic suspense or mystery books is to read the point of view of the bad guy, I just do not like this literary device and that is used in this book – ultimately I skimmed over those parts and I do not feel like my skimming these parts sacrificed the story line.

I would recommend this book and this series for fans of romantic suspense and contemporary romance. If you are looking for a steamy romance with a strong male lead, this book will not disappoint.

I can't handle Lori Foster. In fact, I'm pretty sure I should only be allowed to read Lori Foster books when I am home sick, because that is the only way these books are enjoyable.

Although to be honest, I really loved the opening of this story -- Jackson Savor, manliest stud evar (except for books 1 and 2), wakes up, rolls over, sees a chick in his bed, then pukes! He's been roofied, but it's not date rape guise, because it's Alani and he totally meant to have sex with her anyway.

She's pissed because Lori Foster yet again made all of the heroines into potential victims of sex crimes or abused survivors of sex crimes or... No wait, I'm pissed about that. Alani is pissed cuz she thinks he's puking over his dislike for her. All the tender, romantic things he said the night before were obvious lies and blah blah blah sex traffickers blah chase scenes blah blah sex sex sex blah happy ending.

Anyway, on to the main reason for this review:

What is with Alpha Tough Dudez calling all women "female"? Am I crazy, or is it kinda gross and also weird. Like, if a dude was chattin' me up and was like, "lolz, females shouldn't handle guns" then... I mean, I would be out the door like a shot because I am 1. queer, 2. a feminist, and 3. scared of serial killer misogynists, but still, definitely at #4, upset and weirded out at the use of "female" for "human being."

And also: is it just me or are these private mercenaries like the worst crime fighters ever? There are just these nefarious ne'er-do-wells running all over this little town, shooting shit up, constantly forcing our heroes to run off and hide someplace really convenient for having sex in. Nobody actually prevents any crimes or figures out who they are or what they want or anything. The villain has an actual monologue at the end, to explain all of the villainy!

And then Tough Guize Inc is all like, "we totally knew the bad dudez were there and we let them think they knew we knew they knew but we totally knew and anyway we could not possibly let a female be in danger for even one second so we took all your guns away and made every decision for you". And then Tough Guy #1's wife showed up and was like "hahaha, I was also the victim of a sex crime and now I love sex so much!"

And I just can't with Lori Foster. This is not a three star book at all. But I am also feeling a lot better. (less)

เปิดเรื่องได้น่าสนใจมาก แล้วก็มีเอกลัษณ์ของลอรี ฟอสเตอร์ในแง่ของความร้อนแรง เราพบว่าตัวเองชอบคาแร็คเตอร์ทั้งพระเอกและนางเอกมากกว่าที่คิด (ตอนที่เจอพวกเขาในสองเล่มแรก) ปริศนาช่วงต้นเรื่องน่าคิดดีว่า ใครหนอถึงมาวางยาแจ๊คสัน แล้วเกิดอะไรขึ้นกันแน่ ในส่วนของความสัมพันธ์ก็น่าสนใจ โดยเฉพาะเมื่อแจ๊คสันจำอะไรไม่ได้เลย ก็เลยคิดไม่ออกว่า ตัวเองทำอะไรลงไป อเลนาถึงได้ลดเกราะป้องกันตัวเองลง (จนยอมมีเซ็กส์กับเขา) ทำให้เขาต้องเริ่มต้นใหม่ทุกอย่าง

เรื่องค่อย ๆ ลงเหวไปเมื่อดำเนินไปเรื่อย ๆ เพราะไม่มีอะไรเพิ่มเติมจากที่กล่าวไปตอนแรกเลย เรื่องกลายเป็นความพยายามปกป้องอเลนา (ไม่เข้าใจว่า ทำไมถึงไปคิดว่า อเลนาเป็นเป้าหมาย ทั้งที่แจ๊คสันเป็นคนที่โดนวางยา) แล้วมีคนลึกลับปรากฎตัวขึ้นในเรื่อง (สปอยล์) ซึ่งก็คืออริโซนา คนที่จะเป็นนางเอกเล่มหน้า เหมือนเอาออกมาให้คนอ่านสนใจ จะได้ตามไปซื้อเล่มต่อไป ซึ่งก็ออกมาแบบไม่มีประโยชน์ใด ๆ ทั้งสิ้นกับพล็อตเรื่อง

จากนั้นปริศนาก็คลี่คลาย และนั่นก็คือการทำลายหนังสือเล่มนี้แบบสมบูรณ์ ไม่รู้ว่า จะเริ่มต้นตรงไหนนะคะ (สปอยล์) คนร้ายที่ต้องการล้างแค้นอริโซนา ตามล่าแจ๊คสันเพราะเขาเป็นคนช่วยเธอออกมา แต่คนร้ายซึ่งเป็นผู้หญิงออกอาการหื่นอยากได้แจ๊คสันก่อน ก็เลยแทนที่จะฆ่าเขาทันทีที่มีโอกาส เจ้าหล่อนต้องวางยาเขา เพื่อให้เขามีเซ็กส์ด้วย ถ้าเชื่อเหตุผลแบบนั้นนะ เราก็ยังไม่เข้าใจอยู่ดีว่า ทำไมพออเลนาโผล่เข้าเห็น คนร้ายกลับเลือกที่จะออกจากบ้าน แทนที่จะจัดการกับอเลนาไปเลย ในเมื่อแจ๊คสันก็โดนวางยาไปแล้ว คิดเหตุผลไม่ออกค่ะ จะบอกว่า กลัวคนอื่นรู้ ก็ไม่น่าใช่ เพราะหลังจากนั้นก็มาไล่ฆ่าอเลนา เพียงเพราะเธอคือคนที่แจ๊คสันแคร์ จะได้ทำให้แจ๊คสันเจ็บปวดที่หญิงที่รักตาย เหตุผลทุกอย่างมันไร้สาระเกิดขีดความอดทนของเราค่ะ

If you are a fan of tough, alpha males, and strong females,(and especially if you are a Lori Foster fan) this is your book.
Savor the Danger is the third book of her series about heros.

Whooohooo! This series is back on track for me. It's no secret that I wasn't a big fan of book #2 in this series, and as a result this book has sat in my TBR pile forever. But book#4, A Perfect Storm, is coming so I knew that it was time to catch up. I can easily say that I once again am in love with this series. This book was great!

I think that I can honestly say that this book had one of the most fabulous beginnings ever. The first chapter sends you flying into the story and the sexual chemistry between Jackson and Alani and it never lets off again. Wow, these two have chemistry. Jackson has lusted after Alani forever, so you can imagine his surprise when he wakes up to find her naked in his bed, obviously sexually satisfied, and he has absolutely NO RECOLLECTION of it at all. Add to the fact that he feels violently ill and now Alani is ticked, his day is definitely not off to the best start.

I loved both of these characters. Jackson is an unapologetic player. He likes sex...a lot and he's good at it so he sees no harm in having it a lot. He exudes sex and confidence and pure male sexiness that makes every woman swoon, including Alani, but up till now she has put him off. The bad thing is, he has no idea how he managed to get her into bed, or even if he made it good for her. It's driving him nuts along with the never-ending erection in hopes of getting her there again soon....so that maybe this time he will remember.

Alani is tough and smart. She's been through a lot and she understands how these guys work. I loved the way that she would let Jackson do his job without interference. She trusts his skills and knows that he will do everything in his power to protect her. At the same time, she is absolutely her own independent person.

Of course, this book featured the whole team who we've met in the other books. Dare & Molly, Priss & Trace, Chris...plus a couple of new ones, Arizona and Spencer. I have to admit, I am really excited about Arizona and Spencer's story. You can already see that they are going to be combustible together...in only the best way.

There was a decent suspense story line, although I felt like it was almost more of a background story in this book. For some reason, I never felt that Alani or Jackson were ever were in any real danger, so that probably affected my enjoyment of that side of the story. It definitely never left me feeling on the edge. I was surprised about Arizona's part in the suspense though.

Overall, it was a fun and entertaining read and I am ready to jump into reading book #4 in this series.(less)

I really enjoyed it.

I read the short novella and this was available at the library before I got to book one of the series. So some of the relationships were established but it was not hard at all to fall into this romantic suspense story.

This is the situation in which Alani finds herself after a super hot night with Jackson; she thinks it's because he has regrets; he knows it's because he's been drugged. That much is revealed in the synopsis, but comes across much more...strongly...in the opening chapter of the book.

This is the situation in which Alani finds herself after a super hot night with Jackson; she thinks it's because he has regrets; he knows it's because he's been drugged. That much is revealed in the synopsis, but comes across much more...strongly...in the opening chapter of the book.

This setup brings up what one would hope would be logical questions. Who drugged him? Why? What ulterior motives could/do they have? Will they try again? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

If the story were completely devoted to the resolution of those issues, I would have been okay. Not thrilled, not immediately making lists of people to send the book to, but it would have been a solid story and a thoroughly acceptable way to pass an afternoon. Instead, I felt like we were kind of bouncing around like a pinball, out of control and hopefully just arriving at the ending in one piece.

I freely admit that I don't remember many of the side plots from the second book and, presumably, the first one as well, especially the one that deals with Alani's abduction. Maybe if I did I would be able to get behind the relationship between Alani and Jackson a little more. This author can write some good sexual tension, so I'll put that as a mark in the positive column, but after the innuendo was done I didn't really find a lot that made me relate to any of the characters individually or as an ensemble.

Trace as the super overprotective big brother (Alani is his baby sister) got really annoying after awhile. Dude, regardless of every bad thing that has happened to your sister, and those things are indeed legion, she is an adult woman who has every right to pursue happiness and peace in her life, especially when she is not doing anything immoral, illegal, dangerous, or destructive. If you consider sex with one of your best friends whom you trust with your life to be any of those things then you need better friends or a little bit of self reflection. That is all.

Alani, too, despite having to overcome a kidnapping and the resulting issues (and I'm not being dismissive of those issues, don't take that the wrong way) seems to miss opportunity after opportunity to live her own life and to move into a better place in her own life. Alani grabs onto little details and events and refuses to let them go, even when confronted with a much bigger issue that should make her happier! She can't get over that Jackson doesn't remember their first night together, even though it's apparent to everyone else on the planet that Jackson is completely ga-ga for her and wants to repeat the experience every night for the rest of his life! It's the same old punishing your current lover for other people's mistakes and it gets old in a hurry.

Other than the smoldering tension between Jackson and Alani, this story didn't have a lot to recommend it. I also have to stand corrected on my statement from earlier today, apparently, where I said that this is the third book in a trilogy. According to the bit at the end, there is another book coming out featuring another couple from this universe. I don't know right now that I'll be reading it sadly.

This was my least favorite of the trilogy, as I just couldn't connect with either Jackson or Alani. Jackson was just too cocky for my tastes. There's a difference between cocky and confident, and he didn't measure up to either Dare or Trace in my eyes. Didn't care for Alani either, as she didn't seem as strong as Molly or Priss. All presented different personalities, but I connected with the others more.

Not a bad book - definitely a fun read. You get to revisit the characters from the previous two books (something I always appreciate), and Foster's pacing is always solid. I'm not going to give away too much about the plot as I feel it will spoil the previous 2 books if you haven't already read them.

Ms. Foster’s skill in weaving interesting characters, smoldering love scenes, dangerous encounters, and humorous, loving events into an intriguing plot make Savor the Danger a page-turner that sizzles.

This is my third book from Lori Foster and let me just say her books are amazing! Her first book in this series blew me away, the second faltered a bit but she definitely came back strong in this one. In fact one of the only major faults I had was the cover. I know, I know, don't judge a book by it's cover. But come on! All through out the book we see how studly Jackson is and how he turns every woman's head from young to old. I loved Jackson when we first met him in Trace of Fever so I was over the moon when I saw this book was focusing on him. All the ladies will be swooning over Jackson as they read this book as he's almost like your dream man. He's hot, he's lethal, he fights to protect those who can't protect themselves and he stops to save a poor kitten even with craziness going on around him. How could you not love a guy like that? There are hints that he does have a secret that he thinks will turn Alani against him but that was pretty obvious what it was but the twist on this character's personality and actions did come as a surprise.

Alani was a fun character. She wasn't quite the force Molly and Pris were in the previous two books but that is quite fitting as she's young and has been very sheltered by her brother, Trace, up until the point she was kidnapped. The only thing that bothered me was she fell prey to the problem of a supposedly smart woman making stupid moves all in the name of trying to show no man is the boss of her. I really don't get why these women sometimes feel the need to shoot themselves in the foot to try and prove their independence. Still I did enjoy her character.

One of my favorite parts was watching the interplay between Alani and Jackson and Trace and Dare as they all learn how to deal with the awkwardness of Jackson bedding his boss's sister. Trace and Jackson are so similar that it's funny trying to see Trace be all disapproving over the relationship and realizing that his baby sister has grown up.

It's hard for me to say if this one was my favorite or if Dare's story was my favorite but either way this is definitely a series to pick up!(less)

Jackson Savor is an enigma, even to himself but there’s one thing he knows and that is that he wants Alani with an intensity that borders obsession, when he wakes up to find a sated and warm Alani in his bed he should be flying high, and he would, if he could just remember how she got there. There is something rotten at work here and now Alani and Jackson need answers and they’re determined to get them by any means and if that means staying attached at the hip, well, it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it.
Lori Foster ends her trilogy with the charged romance of Alani and Jackson. She mixes a naïve Alani with the very sexual and outspoken Jackson and we the readers get to watch the sparks flare into flames. She leads us through her plot of the inhumanity we are capable of in the name of money, revenge and power and what happens when there are men who care enough to try to stop it. In this we find the two characters most unlikely to succeed doing just that in spite of their differences and at times because of them. To help them we have the incomparable characters from her previous two novels who will provide added action and excitement. The romance is improbable but her readers will find themselves cheering them on throughout the whole novel. The love scenes are far from meek and the author will definitely push the envelope on sensuality, but as a hard core romance fan, I found the scenes truly matched and enhanced the characters.
If you haven’t read the other two in this trilogy you really should as they will fill in all the blanks you’ll have if this is your first visit with these unforgettable characters.
Be sure to watch for Arizona’s Storm in 2012, it stars characters that you will meet and not forget in this novel.
Thank you Ms. Foster for another unforgettable tale.

I will admit to a serious Jackson crush since his first appearance in this series. He is one of those in-your-face bad boys that will not be ignored, whether it's his turn to be the hero of the story or not. Whenever I have high expectations about a certain character, I automatically worry that the story will not be all I want it to be. It so often seems like previous secondary characters who move on to the starring role have personality transplants from one role to the other. Not so here. Jacks...more I will admit to a serious Jackson crush since his first appearance in this series. He is one of those in-your-face bad boys that will not be ignored, whether it's his turn to be the hero of the story or not. Whenever I have high expectations about a certain character, I automatically worry that the story will not be all I want it to be. It so often seems like previous secondary characters who move on to the starring role have personality transplants from one role to the other. Not so here. Jackson is just as bold, just as filterless and just as entertaining as he has been throughout the series.

Jackson has made no secret of his desire to get Alani, Trace's sister(Trace of Fever (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor))into his bed. Well, as we join the story, that seduction has happened, but poor Jackson has no memory of it. Seems he was drugged prior to Alani's arrival, and he has no recollection of the past day's events. Watching him struggle to get the details out of her, at first covertly, then overtly, was vastly amusing. He is quietly dying to know what tipped the scales in his favor so he can do it again....and again....and again! Alani at first thinks he is rejecting her, then comes to believe he actually was incapacitated, and he is completely miserable about it.

Alani was not my favorite heroine in this series (that would be Priss), but I liked her well enough. She was a little too understanding at times. That may have worked for me if she had followed directions better. The juxtaposition of her not feeling the need to question Jackson with her refusal to do what he said jarred me a bit. Not enough to wreck the story, though, not at all. I love that she trusted him, it just seemed a little out of character, given the moments of jealousy shown, and her willngness to connect her elbow into his ribs when Jackson went all caveman on her. Still, her steadfastness and her willingness to explore their attraction endeared her to me.

Jackson tried so hard to be straightforward with Alani whenever possible, and to tell her he wasn't able to be honest when it came to security issues. His determination to win her trust and to honor his promises to her was touching and, dare I say, sweet. Jackson is a man of many levels, which he tries very hard to hide. Alani pretty much sees right through him, though.

I love the frankness of the conversations between Jackson and Alani. Sexually and emotionally, they go out of their way to be honest with each other, at least to the extent of answering questions honestly. Was it realistic for them to have that level of honesty? I don't know, but it was refreshing to read. Jackson, in his POV, was very open about how he wanted Alani and how he cared for her. His biggest fear was of Alani getting tired of him, and leaving. It was different to see the hero struggle to not overwhelm the heroine, while still being just wide open about his desire for her. I am not explaining it well, but wow, I felt the testosterone Jackson was throwing coming right off the pages. It was intoxicating.

The actual plotline of the book revolves around the human sex trading operation that has been the focus of the last 2 books. Very fast paced and the villian is just creepy. We also get introduced to 2 new characters who I think we will be seeing more of. Dare and Trace make several appearances throughout the story, which is nothing but good. Priss and Molly show up for a guest appearance, as do Chris, the girls and Liger.

There were a lot of light moments in the story, from Jackson's first encounter with Alani's ex, to Trace and Dare's reactions to Jackson and Alani as a couple. And Trace and Dare's reaction to Jackson's....um, virility...was very funny.

I had a couple of small, almost nonissues with Savor the Danger. First, there were the few times that Alani came off as too good to be true. Second, the (SPOILER!)/Spencer subplot almost overpowered Jackson/Alani. That said, I cannot WAIT to read their book! Yikes, the few scenes they had together were blistering. Thirdly, not enough Chris! Then again, I am not sure there can ever be enough Chris, so that probably isn't fair to Ms. Foster.
