CoffeeTimeRomance andMore
There is a spark of sexual interest between Darren and Marie that makes the shy, introverted woman nervous, tongue-tied, and determined to keep her distance. Darren is beguiled by her naivety and bashfulness, while she fights to retain her autonomy. Most of the action takes place while the team is camping out in the remote desert. I love that setting, and though it was not described to my satisfaction in the narrative, I was able to add the details in my imagination since I have often seen the s...more

Dr. Darren Newman is brought on board as a research Tech Assistant even though he works for Dr. Adams, Marie’s chief rival for the promised grant money.

Deep in the desert of New Mexico grows a rare plant said to cure viruses, like the flu. Marie and her small team of assistants set up camp and begin to search for the small, elusive, bromeliad-type specimen. Their aim is to isol...more

I liked this book and its story. It was easy to read and fast paced enough to keep me glued to it throughout the book. The storyline was very believable and the charactors were easy to identify with. All in all it is a well written good book.

This book was sexy and fun. It was a quick read for me that maintained an even level of entertainment from start to finish.

I received this book through Goodreads First Reads.

Though decently written and an interesting story, I thought the book went by a bit quickly. The mystery is well-bracketed with the romance, but this story gets knocked down from three to two stars by the last three pages, which were completely unrealistic and really annoyed me.

The mystery portion is very interesting, and has a couple of turns in it that I really didn't see coming. DeBree may have a more serious future in who-done-its than in h...more
