There is no doubt that this book was out right hot but it also annoyed the hell out of me at times.

I understand its set back a few hundreds years or whatever and men had more control over women back then but Jesus Christ the way Eb and Jeremiah would control Maggie annoyed and frustrated the fuck out of me.

The whole asking for permission from a man to do anything never sat well with me, I'm glad I wasn't born back then the men wouldn't know what hit them lol.

I know she loved both the guys pract...more

I read this before starting the "Desire, Oklahoma" series, because this is where it all began.

I didn't like it that much because the characters where like a square peg and a round hole. Maggie Simms never understood the men's brand of discipline, and the brothers Eb and Jeremiah Tyler don't appreciate Maggie's independent streak. From there, I knew conflicts would arise, they're just too stubborn.

I gave this a there because I appreciated the way they tried to meet each other half-way. The dange...more

Jae’s Review:

I fell in love with Desire, Oklahoma, which is Leah Brooke’s very first book in that series. When I saw this series – Desire, Oklahoma: The Founding Fathers – I was immensely intrigued. I couldn’t wait to see how Desire, the town, got its start.

Untamed Desire had much to live up to, but I can assure you that this story is well worth reading and certainly lives up to any pre-conceived notions that I had for this historical novel. Even if you haven’t read the Desire, Oklahoma series,...more

Monica's Review

Untamed Desire by Lana Dare shows how a small town in Oklahoma was built on desire for a woman—two men loved her since their early ages. Maggie was around sixteen years of age and learned that the two men she loved were leaving her and did not understand why. To Maggie they had left her, never to return and they just got up and left her alone with her father.

Eb and Jeremiah did not have a choice but to leave her. She was too young and they needed to start a new life without her b...more

I'm not sure what to say about this one. I just finished Raw Desire a few days ago and when I saw on amazon that Brooke had begun the series of the Founding Fathers (the men who built the town Desire in the series Desire, Oklahoma) I was really excited to begin it.

While I did enjoy the book and enjoyed finding out how the town had it's start I had a hard time with the main male characters Eb and Jeremiah. They were very dominant and sexy but something about them kept turning me off. I thought th...more

I am rating this at 2.5. I felt that Eb and Jeremiah were over the top arrogant and uncaring of Maggie's wants and desires. In fact they never at any point showed any caring for what Maggie might have thought or cared about anything. They cared only about what they thought she should want or need. I also really hated that they got away with forcing her to marry them and didn't even feel more than slight guilt when other men pointed out that was a bad thing to do. Of course they never tried to ma...more

I really enjoyed reading how Desire, Oklahoma came into being. I am also glad that Maggie, Eb and Jeremiah were able to work out the difficulties of forming a Menage relationship. I am sure that in the West were women were in short supply this type of relationship would have been less frowned on than now. Ms. Brooke writes characters that are full of personality and fun to get to know. She also seems to have a good grasp of what life was like in the Old West. This is a story that is going to hav...more

Desire, Oklahoma; I've always wondered how it all began and now I know. The men who founded it were idiots; larger than life, handsome enough to make every woman in sight swoon in lustful need, masters of all they could see and whom everyone must obey, idiots. It was a good thing they could be taught. Maggie Simms was the one who made them want to learn.

This was my first historical by this author and while the story line was good, some things just didn't ring too true for the time. But all in all a good story about the 'beginnings' of her popular Desire, OK series.
