The higher you climb, the farther you have to fall...

Reed Brennan knew being elected president of exclusive Billings Hall would change her life. What she didn't count on was being dumped by her boyfriend, Josh Hollis, or being held responsible for a fire that destroyed Easton Academy's oldest building.

And now the administration wants to shut Billings down. Forever.

My Random Thoughts on "Ambition":
*I miss Josh
*I really do not like Ivy,
and I honestly don't see why
she hates Billings THAT much,
i mean i can even see hating them,
but if you ask me, she took it to
an extreme
*I don't know why but I love Noelle,
i mean in the book at one point,
i actually despised her, which kinda
appalled me, but then Reed stook up for
herself and Noelle got all sweet, and then
I totally adored her
*I'm now scared for Reed with the hurt
Noelle is going to cause her, but i gotta
say Reed

Het doet me zo terugdenken aan The It

One of Easton’s oldest buildings has burnt down and it’s all on the shoulders of the Billings’ girls. Now, to make sure they get to keep their house, they have to host a benefit and raised $5 Million for the school, in just a couple of weeks.

All the while, Noelle is stepping on Reed’s toes as president, strange things keep happening to Reed after Cheyenne’s death and Reed’s nemeis, Ivy, is now dating Reed’s ex, Josh. Oh, and Reed is still keeping a little secret at to why she and Josh broke up,

So, the only reason I gave this book 3 stars is because Reed finally got what she deserved towards the end. But even then, I didn't think what she got could have been compared to the smackdown I wanted to give this girl.

Reed's blind faith in Noelle is not only disturbing but annoying. And as much as it has been tested, in the past books and in this book, she still stands strongly by Noelle. However, in this book, it's a little different as she finally starts fighting back instead of defending No

This is one of my favorite series. However, I was disappointed with this one. It didn't really go anywhere from the last one. Maybe it's also because I want to see Reed and Josh back together so much.

The character Ivy makes me want to rip the book up. Not that I'm that strong. But killing Cheyenne, acting like a total brat to Reed even though she doesn't even really know her, and dating Josh just went a little overboard for me. She took all the pleasure out of this story; it was painful to finis

The series keeps getting more compelling. I don't know how Brian keeps finding new ways of upping the ante on these books and making them more suspenseful without it feeling contrived, but she has been very successful so far.

I like it—the characters, the storyline—but I feel like there’s too much drama. It’s hurting my head, and I’ve had enough jaw-dropping confrontations/moments to last me for a few more weeks. It seems hard to pin these stories as realistic—yeah, border-line-realistic is more like it. And though it’s a fun read, it’s about as dramatic as an episode of One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl but minus the talented actresses/actors and background music.

The end is another shocker. But I seriously doubt all th

The 7th book of the series was a bit sadder than the others because of her break-up with Josh. It was, as always, still full of drama and mystery. We got to know Noelle more and see Reed go through some big changes and heartaches. I have a feeling Sabine has something to hide. There is just something about her that makes me wonder what she's hiding.

Except for the character development and seeing Reed crash and burn, there was not a lot of actual story development, it felt more like a prequel to

*SPOILERS AHEAD* **I'M GIVING YOU A CHANCE SO YOU BETTER TAKE IT**

This was a really good book, I couldn't put it down! All of the tension between Reed and Josh and how things starting boiling up with Noelle, I mean it was a crazy roller coaster ride. First lets talk about Josh. I don't like him. And when Josh caught Reed and Dash at the Legacy I did feel bad for the guy but at the same time I was just so happy that now they were gonna get broken up. And before you start yelling about all the thi

I feel like this book went too fast. Maybe it was just me. I did read it really fast. Josh is annoying me because I'm also not Ivy's biggest fan. She's a witch. I just want Josh and Reed back together.... I keep switching my views on Noelle, as Reed changes hers. I can't believe that they are still talking to Kiran. I wonder about Taylor, though. On the happy side, I'm proud of Reed for pulling off the fundraiser and trying to stand up to Noelle. I would live for all the Billings girls to get al ...more

Ambition is the seventh book in the Private series. Reed finds herself up against the head-master and the Easton alumnae after a fire destroys one of the buildings on campus. A fire that occurred while Reed and other students were sneaking off campus to attend the Legacy, an annual, exclusive event.

Reed comes up with the idea of a fund raiser in NYC and asks several of her Billings sisters to assist her with the planning. One of which is Noelle. As Reed coordinates meetings and appointments, it

Sigh…the series I once loved seems to be going downhill at this point in Reed’s time at Easton Academy.

The seventh book Ambition opens after the infamous Legacy ball. The ladies of Billings come home from the ball to find the building they used to sneak off campus earlier that night on fire. Because Reed is Billings president, it’s up to her to save the dorm since the new headmaster of the school wants to close Billings down.

Reed comes up with the idea to hold a gala to raise money for the schoo

This book is in the fiction/suspense genre. It's about a girl named Reed who needs to raise 5 million dollars through a fundraiser. The reason she and her friends need to raise this money is because they got caught sneaking back from a party they were forbidden to go to. In order to find out if they raised enough money you'll have to read the book yourself:).

Oi vay!! Something just hit the fan and it doesn't smell or look at all pleasant. So, like I predicted, Reed's misdeeds blew up in her face and it wasn't at all pretty. I felt like throwing the book out of my window and running into a corner to bite my nails in fear. It is so scary will the Billings girls are POed; especially when you're the one who fueled that emotion. Reed. Reed. Reed. What am I gonna do now that you're potentially dead. *sigh* This really needs to pick up in this next book. This has been the longest book of the series so far and I give 0 shits about what is happening. I'm so tired of these storylines. I don't give a crap about Cheyenne or Noelle and I'm starting to not give a crap about Reed. Someone got bit by the bitchy bug.

Sometimes when people see this series they think it's like Gossip Girl and decide not to read it. Big mistake. These books are much better and can only compare with most of the characters being elite. I started reading this series to feed my obsession with boarding schools and have been reading ever since. In this installment, Reed is fighting to save Billings House and also dealing with things from her past (mostly, Cheyenne). This book kept me in suspense throughout and I had to keep reading. ...more

Okay, I'll admit, this one got a little slow for me in the middle. I mean, between all the incessant iPhone references, constant shoulder coiling, and the fact that it's the seventh book, we all get how effing great and old money everything at Easton is, the repetition has been starting to wear me down a bit. Similarly, I feel like this story arc hasn't had quite the pacing that the first four books' did, where things are constantly happening and you aren't constantly getting caught up in Reed's ...more

This book had me at ends! Omg it was incredibly good. The main character finally get what she wants only to be destroyed! Not exactly everyone's type of book but I really liked it. The whole private series has me hooked. I cannot wait until the next one comes out. Katie Brian has a way with her words to pull me into her books and feel like I am in the room witnessing all of the events happening. She also is very good at creating vivid images in the back of my mind. It's amazing how good of a wri ...more

Not as fun as Legacy.

Note to self: don't get too gushy about a mediocre series. These books are fun, but this particular one left a bad taste in my mouth. Dunno why, exactly. Noelle has gotten more annoying and Reed won't stop whining. But they were always that way...

Maybe I'm just having a Private overdose?

Whatever. Ambition: not bad, but not good either. I take back my previous remark about this book not having any fillers because each installment twisted directions entirely. Ambition was to

Again the great twists and stories with stories and plots against people. It's a guilty pleasure, and while teenagers will enjoy reading it, I also hope they learn that all the backstabbing, and what people say and type and do can have long term effects.
