كتاب ماهر في التشعب الى اقصى اعماق مخاوفك ! يحتضنك فعلا قبل ان تسقط في اصعب اوقاتك او اكثرها توترا وحيرة
يقفز بك لتحدي الصعاب وتحويل كل الامور الى نزهة تاخذك في رحلة حكيمة ..
قالب جميل مباشر .. وتغطية شمولية لجوانب الحياة بشكل يجعلك تدرك ان الحياة مغامرة جريئة لايمكنك تفويتها !!

I read this because I have to do a talk on coping with uncertainty. It contains a mixture of cognitive strategies (such as focusing on all of the rough things one has coped with successfully in the past) and existential (such as coming to terms with the fact that we really can't control the future). The material covered is basically sound, and includes a number of exercises to work on. I just wish it wasn't quite so pop-psychology esque...just a little too rah rah you can do it for my taste, and ...more

Too simplistic and almost depressing for my tastes. "give up hoping and dreaming and you won't be disapointed,instead be in a state of wonder " As- I wonder what will happen ? .... what great achievements have we all experienced because we hope, dream and envision ? Yes, there is something wonderfulful about wonder (pun intended ) and I undertand taking action and letting go of the outcome.What other choice do we really have ?, as challenging as that can be.

This is an amazing book. It really spoke to me as I read it, and it had a lot of very easy to use exercises to enable my handling of hard to handle situations, like dealing with death and how to remain productive in stressful and emotionally crippling situations. This is one of the few books I intend to buy instead of just borrowing from the library

This is the third of Susan Jeffers' books I have read, and they are all written in her warm and engaging voice, the concepts are clearly explained and accompanied by very easy and practical exercises to help change your mindset.

Meh. I get it, but I don't care for it. Jeffers has the right attitude, but I'm not her audience. As someone in a recovery program focusing on self-care and inner peace, a lot of the concepts were idealized. The concepts and practices she sets down are guides to progress but only if practiced, practiced, practiced. وجدت أن كتاب احتضان المجهول مرحلة تالية لمابعد كتاب قوة عقلك الباطن ..
حيث أن في كتاب قوة عقلك الباطن يدربك كيف تقرر أو تفكر بأي شي دون قيود أو دون ضرب حساب لنتيجة تلك الفكرة محلقاً في السحب لا تخشى السقوط ..

أما في كتاب احتضان المجهول تتحدث د.سوزان عن نتيجة تلك الفكرة كيف نتقبلها إن صارت إلى غير ما نهوى ..

Susan Jeffers gives a good account of the reasons it is important for all of us to stop trying to control everything about our lives; instead things would flow much more easily if we could allow uncertainty to be a regular companion. In truth it already is, but we try to tell ourselves that we are the masters of our destinys. In small ways we may be, but overall, life really is uncertain, and when we can relax in that knowledge, things do go much better.

I have just finished reading Embracing Uncertainty by Dr. Susan Jeffers. I generally do not want to read books over again but this is one I will keep and plan to read over and over. There are so many tools in this book to help with the everyday stresses that life has to offer and they all make so much sense. I am going to loan this book to my Mother and then read it once I get it back. I can't recommend this highly enough!

This was a short, but very interesting book about dealing with uncertainty. Many of us want to always know what is next and it is difficult for us to deal with not knowing. This book helps people like us deal with the not knowing.

Phenomenal book with a lot of real-life examples to incorporate into any mindfulness practice. I've struggled with uncertainty for years, and even reading this book made me feel calmer.
