LOVE TWITTER STYLE!

After some urging from my friends and seeing a brief look at this book from one of the last books I had read from Teresa Medeiros, I just had to check out Teresa Medeiros’ latest book “Goodnight Tweetheart” and I was amazed at the concept of this book! “Goodnight Tweetheart” is definitely a great book for romance novel fans of the “Twitter” generation!

Abigail Donovan is a struggling writer who is trying to finish her latest book, but she could never find the right things to...more

4 ½ stars. Wow! What a great story! Teresa Medeiros always produces the very best books, and this shorter book is no exception. I didn’t even know if I was going to “get it” because I have no idea about Twitter. I don’t tweet, so didn’t know anything about it, but not to worry, if you don’t either you won’t be lost in this book. This truly is “A Love Story in 140 Characters or Less.” Sort of a Sleepless in Seattle meets Twitter, except based in reality. Can Abigail Donovan (a struggling, but onc...more

Quick read + meet cute = romance for 21st Century. 3.5 stars. How's this for a review in less than 140 characters?!

Abigail Donovan is an Author who is down on her luck. It has been a while since her first novel was chosen as one of Oprah’s book picks. Now, Abigail can't get anyone to come to her book signings. Instead she is asked to dress up in bunny costume and reading another author’s book to children.

If Abigail can't finish her next book she will be out of a job. Now here is where it begins. Abigail’s agent signed her up for a Twitter account. She knows nothing about twitter but is still willing to give...more

I was rather apprehensive when one of my favourite historical romance authors, Teresa Medeiros, announced that she was writing a contemporary novel, GOODNIGHT TWEETHEART, and not only that, but the hero and heroine communicate with each other entirely through Twitter. But to my surprise, I discovered a heart-warming romance tinged with a little sadness; an absolute gem!

Four years ago, Abby Donovan was riding high, the author of a best-selling first novel which had come close to winning the Pulit...more

My actual rating would be 2.5 stars, but I'm nice and rounding up.

you know that friend who's in luuuuuuurrrrvvvveee after meeting a guy once? The friend who comes up with elaborate fantasies of dates with some guy she barely knows? That's this book. It seemed like there wasn't sufficient character development for me to have a reason to like any of the characters. Or maybe I'm just one of those girls whose gag reflex is activated by words like "tweetheart" and the idea of a twitter date - I mean,...more

I finished reading this book–more like plowing–today, which was written by Teresa Medeiros. What a fun story! I know it sounds funny, but I know nothing about Twitter, so reading this book was kindof a dummy’s guide for me in that way.

The basic story is Abby Donovan is an author who’s got major writer’s block in the midst of her follow-up book–an Oprah Pick. She can’t seem to get past chapter five and her publicist and editor are starting to get restless. In an effort to keep her fanbase interes...more

This was a really quick read and also very sweet. I really liked Abby and Mark. Their twitter banter was playful and fun and I completely understood their connection. I have met many great people online and I totally get the bonds that you can form with people you've never even spoken to. And since I'm a recovering Twitter addict, I really found it amusing when Abby was composing tweets in her head throughout the day.

The one thing that kept this book from being five stars was the ending. I need...more

It was the "Griffin & Sabine for the Twitter generation" that made me grab this book - I remember falling completely in love with those books and was curious enough to borrow this "updated" version.

Now, I'm not a twit myself, er, that is, I've never really understood the whole love of Twitter thing. It's a public forum where everyone shares their personal experiences? Sounds more like group therapy than social networking, but, hey, it works for many people I respect. Anyhow, realize I had a...more

Abby Donovan is an author who has written one great American novel, and has been struggling to write number two ever since. After a day of public humiliation at a local bookstore, her publicist signs her up for a twitter account that changes her life.

Twitter is where she meets the charming Mark Baynard. The two of them engage in a quick-witted repartee from their first tweet.

I loved the banter between these two characters. They will definitely keep you laughing, when you're not crying, along th...more

Goodnight Tweetheart was a quick, fun read. Anyone familiar with Twitter will find it really easy to get. Non-Tweeters will be able to understand Twitter based on Mark's explanations to the non-Tweeter Abby-so you don't have to understand Twitter to enjoy the book.

Abby is a terrified she can no longer write--after all, how do you top an almost-Pulitzer and Oprah Pick? She's past deadline and still on Chapter Five. She's more than willing to play with the Twitter account her publicist sets up for...more

I don't read a lot of contemporary romance if you follow my blog you know this. I was pleasantly surprised by this book, contemporary though it is. This book is different than any other book I have read and I have to admit when I read the excerpt from her Wicked Intentions book I was wary about it. I couldn't have been more wrong. This book is amazing.

The story is heart-wrenching and warming at the same time. There are no naughty bits but Teresa Medeiros makes up for that with witty banter and b...more

This book really surprised me. It's just totally different from other Teresa Medeiros' books.
The banters was witty. There are any pop icons and TV references that most of the times I don't even know. (If you can recognize all the names mention in this book then you're as much of a TV and movie addict as Abby. ) However, this doesn't become a pitfall at all. The names don't matter. Even though I don't recognize the pop reference, the way Abby or Mark write it is just so funny I still can laugh.

What I Can Tell You:

I wasn't really sure this was going to work. A love story written in 140 Characters or less? It was beautiful. I think this book could have been completely hokey but it wasn't. Teresa's Abygail and Mark are truly likeable people. I loved the banter between them. It was smart and fun. I found myself smiling most of the time.

Can we really find love on Twitter? Who knows! All I can tell you is that when the twist happens I find myself praying and hoping. Teresa holds us until t...more

I looked forward to this book for months and when it finally came out, I devoured it in two hours. Teresa Medeiros does a marvelous job of turning the social media frenzy into a romantic story that could easily be the best book of 2010.

I won't go into detail because I believe revealing too much would lessen the emotional impact of the story, but I will say she weaves a romance that's both believable and heartwarming. Mark and Abby are wonderfully funny. Goodnight Tweetheart made me laugh, it mad...more

Teresa Medeiros is a great source if you enjoy comedy romances. She writes mostly in the historical genre, but her forays into contemporary writing is also quite fun.

I gulped this book in about two days (if I read it straight, would probably take me 2-3 hours). I love the font; nicely spaced and easy-to-read serif (I can't identify what kind).

Ms. Medeiros explored the life of a one-hit-wonder author facing a massive writer's block and an uncertain future who discovered microblogging. In the ligh...more

Can two strangers who meet by chance find the love of a lifetime?

Bestselling author Abigail Donovan almost won the Pulitzer Prize and did win Oprah's stamp of aproval. So why is she spending her days - and nights - hiding in her expensive New York City condo with only her two cats for company?

When her publicist drags her into the world of social media, Abby figures she'll meet some fourteen-year-old living in is mom's basement. But instead she finds Mark Baynard, a sexy and quick-witted English...more

This book was just...if i were to sum it up in one word, would be- adorable!!! I guess it was completely because of the flirtatious ways the tweets of the main characters, Abby and Mark. Now that might just be my liking towards such conversations which got me smiling as i flipped through every page of this book. Maybe not every page...besides that there are other moments too, that will give you the warn-n-fuzzy feeling and some gets you sad and excited at times. I read this after reading a few h...more

I tweeted the following immediately after reading this book:

(1) I literally just screamed "Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you!" at a book I just finished reading. What a cliffhanger, fuck

(2) I really regret wasting 2 hours of my life reading a book with such a sucky ending

(3) What the fuck is wrong with putting out a happy ending? Why in the world is that so hard???

(4) Dammit I'm gonna read another book to ward off these bad vibes

(5) Ugh I'm so pissed

Clearly, I couldn't express all o...more

This was a cute little novel. A quick and easy read, Good Night Tweetheart took me only a few hours to finish and had me grinning by the end. Initially I was a bit wary of this novel. I can see how friendships develop online through this relatively new medium, but love? It took a little convincing for me, especially being leery about meeting men online myself and I know it happens, probably more frequently than I’m even aware, but I still wasn’t...more

So I was a little leery and cautious of this book at first. Teresa Medeiros is an auto-buy author for me. She was one of the authors I read in my teens and continued to produce stories that captures the heart. This - as far as I know - is her first foray away from historical romances.

Another reason why I never got the book right away is because it is only available, at the moment, in trade size. The expense is more than I can spend per book.

So I am on page 68 - Abby's tweet conversation with...more

Oh my goodness! I cannot believe how much I loved this book.

I have read several of Teresa Medeiros' historical, in the past few years.
I did not know that she had written anything present day until I was scanning through the "new" books at my library a few days ago.

I picked this book up on her name alone. I never enjoyed any book written in email style, I really did not expect to enjoy this one written in, "tweets", especially since I have never tweeted or read any tweets.

OK, so basically I read this novel because it’s about Twitter! And I love Twitter, despite the fact that I’m often too lazy to fight with my phone to get it to work properly. I can only tweet, my stupid timeline doesn’t update unless I take the battery out of my phone and turn it on, and then 5 minutes later it’s not working again. Pain in the ass, I can’t wait to get a Droid. Anways.

So this novel is about Abby Donovan, a writer with one successful Oprah-approved novel under her belt, who has be...more

I am in love with love and always have been. This week’s book “Goodnight Tweetheart” is a lovely romantic novel set in 2010 NYC (the most romantic American city??). Very timely and quirky this book was an incredibly fast read. As a matter of fact I finished it in one day over the span of 6 hours.

In my teen years I would spend hours reading romance novels. Danielle Steel, Johanna Lindsey and Catherine Coulter were my friends who wrote love stories that unfortunately helped to form my misbegotten...more

I reviewed this on my blog at www.bookworm2bookworm.wordpress.com

Let’s start with an admition that this story is by one of my favorite Authors. That in itself, if you’ve read any of my reviews, will not stop me from voicing my opinion.

Also, being an avid reader almost exclusively of Historical romance genre, and after reading Debbie Macomber’s Cotemporary short, I had my doubts. Let me be clear, this is one story you should not pass on reading. It has everything you ever wanted in a love story:...more

The story begins with Abigail Donovan at an unattended book signing, her book. Abigail, who once wrote a bestseller, is now unable to get past Chapter 5 of her second book. Her publisher decides to create a Twitter account for her so Abby can interact with her fans. Abby is skeptical at first but then decides to give Twitter a chance and she has her first follower, Mark Baynard, asking her “Are you a virgin?”
The novel is told almost entirely in tweets and DMs. It is a light fun read about two pe...more
