Twenty-nine year old charismatic, Cary 'Colt' St. John, felt almost too confident in himself even before he graduated law school and began working for an LA law firm. Acting out his sexual fantasies as a powerful dom in nightclubs was near perfection. Until he grew bored with that as well. He yearned 'fresh meat', someone he could train. The repetitive 'acting subs' in the...more

Mr. Lawyer, Mr. Lawyer
with a very secret job
Whip and chains, pony-boy tails
some handcuffs and leather thongs

Colt St. John is a lawyer who has an interesting night job as the head Dom in a BDSM club. He's pushy, arrogant, confident, a little cold, vain and too handsome for his own good. Men pay him to dominate them and Colt is so good that he has a waiting list.

Now, this isn't the BDSM club that you've read about in other romance novels. Col...more

Lawyer Cary "Colt" St. John, who is a Dom in a BDSM club, has lost interest in the repetitive encounters with one-night subs. Then the janitor, Ashton Lake, who cleans his law offices, catches his attention. Ashton is shy and everything says Colt that he is submissive. So Colt decides to go on the hunt and to make everything needed to catch Ashton in his net. Since Ashton works at night, Colt begins to work later than usual. I like how Colt wasn't interested in Ashton's social status, but more c...more

Cary ‘Colt’ St John is at the top of his game. He’s working for a high-profile Los Angeles law firm and acting out his sexual proclivities at night as a Dom at an elite BDSM club. Everyone wants his particular attentions, from courtroom judges to high finance bankers. However, Colt is bored. None of the Subs he meets in the club appeal to anymore. Colt is looking for new games and “fresh meat”.

Ashton Lake is a shy young man trying to keep his job as the night janitor in the high-rise law office...more

Born to Please is the first book I have read by author GA Hauser and now that I have I will most definitely be reading several more. To start, her style is fluid, each scene connecting seamlessly to the next. Her characters are real, dealing with believable human issues of weakness and fear. This makes their journey towards each other emotionally.

Colt St. John, whose real name is Cary, is powerful in his day job as a successful lawyer, and in his night world as a renowned dom. Sought after by su...more
This book was a surprise to me I thought that I would give it a star rating, but would not have much to say. I had read another GA Hauser book this week and thought it would the same hot guys having steamy sex theme, and there were hot guys and there was steamy sex, but the story was different.

Ashton is a recovering heroin addict, who has been clean for two years and works as a janitor for a law firm in LA. Colt is a lawyer at the same law firm, he is gay, but in the closet and also moonlights a...more

When I started this book I wasnt' sure I wanted to keep reading. The way Colt acts at the beginning is just too much. ONe review said he sexually harassed Ashton, and I have to agree. Sure Ash liked it, but wow!!!! The description of BDSM was also hard to take, it was so humiliating and just more about the degradation than the control. BUT beyond that I liked the book, I felt for them both, they've both lived really crappy lives. I really liked how both Colt and Ash were in the end. I was glad C...more
I really enjoyed this book! I was pulled in from the beginning and felt invested in the characters. Ashton is a recovering drug addict that is looking to straighten his life around. While cleaning the office building of a law firm he has a run in with Colt. Colt is a Dom and is getting very bord with it ... until he sees Ashton. But Ashton is straight ... or that's what he thinks.

I do wish that there was a little more dialog in this book. Maybe a little more communication that would make things...more
There was so much I did not like about this book yet I contuined to be sucked in. By the last page I was disappointed it was over. There was also some random time during sex Ashton got turned into Ashley. That made me giggle. (view spoiler)...more

Colt is an ass, just like his father said. I don't like him much. Ashton deserved better. The first part of the book made me mad because Colt was such a jerk. And he also plays into the typical accusations that gay men will flirt and aggressive pursue a straight guy just to flip him. Between Colt and Lion's mutual gratification in the fantasy of fucking a straight guy into a gay submissive disgusted me. Even though this ended up happily ever after and the sex was hot, I'm not a fan. I still rate...more

This is my first time reading G.A. Hauser, and I have to say I really enjoyed the ride. There were many unexpected twists and turns in this "Dom finds the perfect sub" scenario. Hauser made me blush as well as laugh along the way. The story did require I suspend disbelief a bit in the hook up between a hot shot lawyer and a janitor recovering from drug addiction, but I did so willingly as I hoped for them to find a way to make the relationship work. So glad I gave this author a try and I'll be l...more
I liked this story, but everything got resolved in a hurry and a little too perfectly for me considering all of the issues these guys had. I LOVE Ashton, and my heart absolutely broke for him when Colt treated him like crap and kicked him to the curb, and I was so proud of him for calling his sponsor instead of doing the heroin he bought. I would have thought of all people Colt, who has so many issues of his own, would have understood how tough things must be for Ashton and at least given him a...more

The seduction in the beginning was just ridiculous, and I was sure this was going to end up being a 2 star book. But then it shifted and I loved it. There were other minor things I got caught up on...but they didn't take anything away from my enjoyment of the book.
Her books just get better and better every time . . . it's why she's my go-to author for this genre because I just LOVE all her books! Terrific story, I expected no less.

This is very romantic Cinderfella story with a bit of BDSM. The romance (not the BDSM) was kind of intense and that is just how I like it.
Loved every moment of this book. Except for one part . . . the end. Haha, these guys definitely grew on me.
