Another book I have found to be very useful in my studies of Greek thought. Like the Peters book (Greek Philosophical Terms) all Greek words are transliterated into our alphabet. Now, when you change alphabets there is always a dispute over the best letters to choose and thus spelling changes over time: the good old you say Peking but I say Beijing sort of thing. Thus Peters ('Greek Philosophical Terms: A Historical Lexicon) has 'hyle' for the Greek word for matter (I have no Greek font...more
