Advance Excerpt from Archangel's Consort

Chapter 1

Swathed in the silken shadows of deepest night, New York was the same . . . and altered beyond compare. Once Elena had watched angels take flight from the light-filled column of the Tower as she sat in front of the distant window of her cherished apartment. Now, she was one of those angels, perched high atop a balcony that had no railing, nothing to prevent a deadly fall.

Except of course, she would no longer fall.

Her wings were stronger now. She w...more

Before I write the review, do yo ever guessed why Naasir never appear in this book?

The answer is...

He's so naughty, so Raphael change him as a cutie little white tiger, and take him as accessories at his shoulder..

Just kidding :P

Now,for the review

What I must said?

After my long time waiting for this book, 2 months, if you want to know, I'm almost weep when this book finally arrived at my home. And I don't wanna waste a time, that night I read it and I found, when...more

September 6th 2011… now that’s cruel if you ask me. *sighs* And so ends the final book in my Guild Hunter collection. I have two short stories that I need to read but it’s still not the same thing… total sadness… *dramatic music playing in the background * The HORROR!!!! *shakes fist in the air*

Now that I’m done with that breakdown I’ll continue my review. Excuse my outburst…

So, we start with an annoying Raphael. I really don’t know wtf was wrong with him at the beginning of the book but I was p...more

I strongly recommend not reading this review if you have not read the previous two books, Angels’ Blood and Archangel’s Kiss. It is impossible for me to write this review without including HUGE spoilers for the first book. So, just know that the first two books were five stars for me and I recommend them!

This book takes us back to New York and all the family and friends that Elena hasn’t seen since being Made. I’ve been eager to see the reaction to Elena’s wings since the end of the first book,...more

This series just doesn't get old for me. I read it over and over.
Some of her other books(like the Psi changeling) are good and some are not; either way and I can do without them.
But the Guild Hunters story is the best one ever.
Raphael is very unique and the storyline so far has been extremely satisfying.
So next spring will be a very happy time for me. For a few hours at least.

I read the first two installments of this series and I thought they were okay; not my favorites but okay. It bothered me that Elena and Raphael wanted to screw each other's bones all the goddamn time had so much sex and if they weren't going at it like rabbits, they were thiking about it. I mean, there's only so much gratuitous sex scenes that always take the same turn of events, before it gets old.

But I bought this book anyway, because I thought there would be some fighting going on, and I real...more

5 BEAUTIFUL STARS FOR THESE TWO ANGELS!!!

Nalini Singh did it again for me! Three beautiful parts to a love story so strong no odds can ever defy it!

I absolutely Loved the third installment of the Guild Hunter Series. I enjoyed learning more about Elena's family and the struggles she has gone through to become the hunter she is today. At the same time Raphael's story was unfolding in front of my eyes and learning his struggles with his family and his fears of becoming what his mother once became...more

The only excuse I have for taking so long to read this book is that I started college and don't have much free time. And the fact that Facebook has taken over my life.

However, now that I am finished, I have to say that I still love this series. The story was awesome and I love all the characters (for the most part). Also, I love seeing the relationship between Raphael and Elena develop and become deeper and deeper with every page.

My delicious Raphael continues to be adorable. I love everything a...more

This is my third adventure into the wonderful world of Archangel's by Nalini Singh and I must say she has officially become one of my favorite authors. This author truly stays true to her world building and I love the series so much that it has become one of my favorites.

Loved this so much better than the first time. I just love how Nalini takes us into Elena's mind to the point that you feel her pain and joy. I also read a piece of fluff during the reread and when I came back I was like ahhh this is what descriptive writing should be. Gave it a star bump after this read. :o)

First of all, this cover is absolutely stunning. I found myself staring at it for several minutes. I think it captures Elena beautifully and think that this series continues to have some of the best covers out there.

After the devastating events in Beijing, Guild Hunter Elena and her Archangel, Raphael, have returned home to New York. Elena doesn’t expect her return to be easy, after all she is the first angel-Made in the even not-so-recent history of angels. She’s determined to re...more

Archangel's Consort was far from perfect with it's superfluous sex scenes and slow build up to an uncertain and frankly lack lustre ending. It pains me to say all of that because Nalini Singh is one of my favourite authors with her Psy-Changeling books being my favourite paranormal romance series. My disloyalty is blasphemous but it needs to be said.

The numerous sex scenes led to boredom and skimming, not because they weren't hot, they were, there were just too damn many of them. Especially if y...more

So I'm a little on the fence about these books. While definitely this series is excellent, and this installment I found to be excellent too. I'm still sort of feeling like the first book is my favorite. While there is still a plot in each book and it's a little slower in the past two books for a reason.... I kind of miss all the action a little bit. I mean I'm not complaining about all the heat in the past two books but I could miss a few scenes if there was so more going on.
But really that's j...more

Another excellent entry in Singh's Guild Hunter series. I wonder if she plans to expand the series to include some of the other angels? I would love to read about Raphael's Seven.

I love the evolution of Raphael and Elena's relationship. I think Raphael becomes just a shade more human with each book, which makes him easier to relate to. He's still the same cold being he was in the first book, but he's softened where Elena is concerned.

If only NS wrote these faster. I hate having to wait so long...more

Elena has returned to New York to find that things aren't as she remembered them to be. She and Raphael come home and her first visit into public is to investigate a vampire attack at a private school where her two half-sisters go. This vampire brutalized and killed two children because he was told Raphael was gone and there would be no repercussions. This was the start of many horrifying events that young vampires committed throughout the book. These vampires were being influenced by a very pow...more

Some books are easy to review. Some harder. This one falls into the latter category. I love Nalini Singh, love both of her series, and I was salivating to get my hands on this one. And I very much enjoyed it...even though it was nothing like what I expected.

I guess the best way to say it is that this one was more...intimate...than the others. There is still a big bad angelic bogeyman, or in this case the threat of one, hanging over the heads of Elena and Raphael. But this books is very much abou...more

Book Description :
An ancient and malevolent female immortal is rising in Manhattan to reclaim her son, the archangel Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena Deveraux, a vampire-hunter-and Raphael's lover.

My Thoughts:
Out of all the Guild Hunter books, this is the one that I cared for the least. It was dull and unimaginative. And it pains me to say that because I typically enjoy Nalini Singh’s work.

Throughout the story, we learn that Elena’s youngest half-sister, Eve, is also hunter-born....more

Cannot say enough of how much I love this series. This is the third installment of Elena and Raphael's romance. Elena and Raphael have just come back from their angel refuge when strange things start happening. Vampires with sudden blood lust, earthquakes, tsunamis around the world. Only one explanation, an archangel who was in Sleep has decided to rise. Could it be Caliene, Raphael's insane mother? Eleana's got her mother-in-law's scent and she is on the hunt. Now if she can figure out a way to...more

Nalini is always a favorite. I loved all the attention that was spent on building Elena and Raphael's relationship. And yet we got to see so much of Raphael's Seven. Great book.

And I must say two thumbs WAY up to the section on how angels dance. Fabulous writing.

Archangel's Consort is the third book of the series and they seem to be getting better with each book. Raphael (though he is very sexy) was so cold, arrogant, and unemotional in the 1st book that it was hard to believe he was willing to die with Elena instead of saving himself. I knew he was attracted to her and enjoyed making love to her but I just didn't quite get it until he was willing to die with her.

Archangels Consort, the third book in Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series, continues in the interesting world where Archangels rule the vampires they make, other angels, and humans in general. Raphael and Elena are back in New York, facing painful family dynamics on both sides and escalating threats with the help of Raphael’s Seven and Elena’s Guild Hunter friends.

The best decision that I made this August was to re-read the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. As I said the first time I read this book, “Archangel’s Consort” is AMAZING!!!

The story takes us back to New York and Elena now is going to see her beloved ones. Of course, a new danger is lies ahead. What I liked more in the book is that Elena doesn’t have an “easy” life now that she’s an angel. She’s still having problems with her family and she’s trying very hard to be accepted both by the people...more

I have fallen in love with Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series, so of course when the third book to the series came out I made sure to grab a copy. I had already heard some not so good reviews and also some excellent reviews.I figured people with the not so good reviews must be crazy how can you not give it a five my exact thoughts before reading it.

At last I had the book in my hands and started reading it. For someone who can finish a book in a...more

Elena and Raphael are back in Manhattan. But the world is in unrest, disasters everywhere, vampires killing out of bloodlust, and even archangels like Raphael and the other members of the Cadre show sign of changing. It only means one thing, an Ancient is waking ... and this one is closer to Raphael than any other. Because the Ancient who is waking is none other than his own mother.

It takes me a little while to get into the world again -- maybe because it's been awhile since I am in the company...more

Ohhhh, Archangel’s Consort. Where do I start? I have fawned over the cover for a long time, counted down the days for your release since I finished with Archangel’s Kiss. I don’t want to say that I am completely disappointed, but it didn’t live fully up to my expectations.

Archangel's Consort should be on you must-buy list immediately. Why? Angels, Vampires, and one Sexy Archangel that will blow your breath away. The Guild Hunter Series is a must-have for any Paranormal Romance reader.

Rapheal and Elena are recovering from the battle in Archangel's Kiss and are more and more in love with each other than ever. And there is the fact that coming back home and Elena being out in the open now, that people know that Elena is indeed alive, but she is an angel now and peo...more

Almost 4stars.
Elena was just not my favorite in this installment. I'm so use to her being the very independent, kick ass heroine and to find her so whiny and vulnerable was not expected. I felt like it dragged, all I heard was "Raphael, I need you" or "I'm his CONSORT" this and that. It was annoying to me.
But then at about 75% it takes a turn. She starts revealing her past torments and that was intriguing and the plot thickened and became fast paced.
No complains of the hero and his cadre. Raphae...more

I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. “What would you like to call me?"

That made her pause. "Husband" was too human, "partner" factually wrong for a being as powerful as an archangel, "mate"...perhaps. But none of it was quite right. "Mine," she said at last.

He blinked and when he raised his lashes again, the blue was liquid fire. Yes, that will do. "But for public consumption, you are my consort."

"Consort," she murmured, tasting the word, feeling it's shape. "Yes, that fits.”
