I must say that this is not an actual "romance" story but more of "family" story. Why? Because in about 40 pages, the story (written with 1st person, with Jon, the oldest brother as narrator) is more focusing on the warmth of the Bell family. It's like "Home for the Holidays", you know? You get a sense on how each of the Bell kids are. From Mama and Papa Bell to Jon, Olivia, Eric, and Suze. Of course, there is a start of new relationship between Jon and Kim, Eric's friend that he brings

Really cute short, Jon is home for Christmas, which is a huge deal to his mother!
I was almost exhausted listening to Jon describe all that was cooked, wrapped, decorated and activities that were attended.
It's a very good, perfect family, great parents and four nice, successful children.
Jon's younger brother brings home his friend Kim, who has been disowned for being gay.
Jon promises his brother to not come onto Kim, but it's hard *cough* to do.
They finally do acknowledged their attraction and it
Ridiculously sweet. Very well-written. Clueless but cute guy really likes his brother's friend...

I liked this story about a normally gung-ho assistant professor who comes home for the Christmas holidays to meet his younger brother's friend from grad school. When the younger brother tells Jon that he isn't supposed to make a pass at his friend, Kim, Jon is disappointed but thinks it can be done. Seeing their attraction grow until Kim takes the initiative was fun.

A super cute story. I wouldn't mind reading more about Jon and Kim to see where their relationship goes and how they make it work considering how they live a few hours away from each other and Jon's a teacher while Kim's a student. I'm definitely hoping for more ^_^
A nicely done Christmas Story.

I liked the way this one flowed and the way it ended was appropriate for a short.
Another book with a free recipe is Christmas Bells , a wonderful Christmas spirited story about a caring family, the Bells. Oldest brother Jon is the main character and narrator of this story. His brother Erik brings a college friend home with him for the holidays. Kim is gay, like Jon, but his family kicked him out when he told them. There's an instant attraction between the two men, but Jon's brother asked him to not make a pass at Kim... And thus a nice building of admiration and friendship ...more

The Bell family is the perfect American family, the kind you see in Folgers coffee commercials. Jon is pleasantly surprised when his younger brother Eric brings home a friend, however Erik warns him off, saying Kim's family has shunned him and he's "fragile". But Kim seems to be coming on to Jon and he's trying to stay clear making for some awkwardness. His sister and mother try to push them together and finally on Christmas Eve Kim makes a move. To be honest, these "perfect" families annoy me a ...more

This is a really well done short story about a family Christmas. When Jon's brother Eric brings home a friend who has been rejected by his family after he comes out, Eric warns Jon not to make a move on him. However, the friend and Jon's family may have other ideas! Very cute, short lovely read. And there's a recipe!
Very good short m/m holiday romance about an assistant professor, staying at his parents' house for Christmas, whose brother brings home a very attractive friend from grad school who doesn't have anywhere to go for the holidays.
Very cute short story of an assistant college professor with the most amazing family who has to stay away from a family friend due to a promise made to his brother. Sweet Christmas story.
A cute fun short holiday story. Loved that Jon and Kim had to had to dance around each other until Kim finally took a chance and made the moves on Jon.
Cute low angst Christmas story. There wasn't much to this one and it was very short. But you do get a recipe at the end so that's always nice.
3.5 stars rounded up - very well done short family-oriented story with good characters and an understated romance.
