Star-crossed lovers have it easy compared to the 'century crossed' lovers who are the main characters in Cherished Displacement. I must admit that I was interested in the idea from the time I first read the blurb: I mean, an alien time machine, trying to keep it out of the wrong people's hands, an actual journey back in time, and true love? Can it get any better? But that initial interest was far outdone by the total fascination with the story once I started reading it.

Mason is a great guy who g

I think the premise was interesting and the first chapter or so I was excited for something different but then it just became a mess. There was absolutely no difference in the speech patterns, vocabulary, etc. between Mason and Lewis, or Mason and James or Mason and anyone in the 16th century. A couple of remarks were made of, "oh you sound different; where are you from?" I mean, really? That's it? If you plopped a 21st century person down in 1940 maybe, but 16th century England? but they are forced apart because Lewis needs to stay in his own 16th Century, because he needs to merry a girl who will give birth to his daughter, who is really important part of 16th Century. But then the plot is turned up side down and this important child, daughter from Lewis, which needed to b

Wow. DJ Manly’s CHERISHED DISPLACEMENT is a creative combination of Area 51, time travel, the gay romance genre, and the historical romance, and I loved it.

I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting ...more
