"Why waste your life
on saccharin and plastic,
When those mature and secure
are always fantastic"

I received this book for free through the first reads program in a listing by Branch Isole himself. I own several lovely signed copies of books and I'm so happy to have this book among them.

At first I wasn't sure about the poetry, I write lyrical poetry and so I'm used to having each stanza rhyme and I put a lot of focus into the flow of my work. I wasn't sure because Isole's poetry comes from a differe

I won this book through the Goodreads Giveaways.
I do enjoy reading the odd poetry book now and again, tending to lean towards the older stuff, so I only had a little idea of what 'Voyeurism Poetry' entails. "Saccharin and Plastic Band Aids" is a book of poetry by Branch Isole. This book is described as voyeurism poetry, and it lives up to its name. Readers get a glimpse into external and internal observations. The poems in this book explore ever topic from seeing a rainbow to falling in love, from a relationship with God to sexual exploits.

The style of the poetry is short lines with quick, witty rhymes in some cases. The subjects of the poems make it definitely worth a read, since these subjects a

It's been awhile since I've read modern poetry but I really enjoyed this book of poems. I, for whatever reason, am always skeptical of poetry being angsty and youthful which turns me off. This book of poetry was decidedly adult, mature, and in my humble opinon, well-done.

I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

Writing to "strike a chord or touch a nerve" author, poet and storyteller Branch Isole uses commonly shared themes every reader knows first hand to explore or reflect on issues and emotions often experienced, but not always voiced.
