Loved this one, especially Raphael <3 he gets better with each book :)

Some of my favorite quotes:

"“Do you think you have the right to give me orders now?”

The Archangel of New York, a creature so lethal that part of her feared him even now, lifted the hair off her nape, brushed his lips across her skin. “Of course. You are mine.” No hint of humor, nothing but stark possession."

"“I won’t watch you die again, Elena.” The Cadre had chosen her because she was
Ever since I read the previous novel, Angels' Blood, I have been waiting impatiently for this book to come out. I was nervous about reading it though. Sometimes I'll love the first book in a series and then feel disappointed in the following books. That is definitely not the case here. It was definitely worth the wait.

In this book we get to see the vulnerability of Elena in relation to all the other angels in her new world. She's used to being the strongest person and now has to deal with being

Hey! Be nice!

Just LISTEN for a second! Look, I’m not happy about this rating either okay?

I wanted to love this book. I really did. Hell, after reading the first one in the series I even expected to love this book. Obviously I didn’t get my way. What the hell happened? Where the hell did Elena go?

WHODAFUQ is this TSTL Mary Sue body snatcher that’s taken over her?

And WHEREDAFUQ did the intriguing plotline go?

And WHYDAFUQ is Raphael so disgustin
I guess I'm a sucker for amusing banter. Especially when I love both characters and the world that these books are set in.

"The only way to learn to fly, is to fly." He pushed her off the edge of the cliff.
"That's your idea of teaching? I could've been splattered from here to Manhattan!"

"You were never in any danger." His eyes gleamed with laughter. "That's how young angels learn to fly..."

"You push babies out into thin air?"

"How do you think birds learn to fly?"

"Okay, push me again."

Ms. Singh has created an incredible, yet dark world here with the Guild Hunters. There is a mix of the sublimely beautiful and awe-inspiring and the deeply chilling and sometimes revolting. Although I prefer the traditional biblical angelic storylines, she has taken most of what I find alluring about angels and paired it with a storyline that features a race of angels who are sensual, primal, dark, and dangerous.

Archangel's Kiss is definitely urban fantasy romance on the dark edge. Singh doesn't

I'm in love with this book :)) Review to come
I'm kind of totally over the alpha-animal-male-hero and tough-chicks-who-wear-thigh-high-leather-boots kind of literature, so it's a testament to this author that I really loved this book. I mean, there's a bunch of hot angels and vampires running around, this should be silly, right? But I loved the first book in this series and the second one was equally enjoyable. Even though this is definitely a romance book, and has a lot of genre tropes, I just always enjoy reading Nalini Singh. She's at th ...more
The story begins with Elena awakening from her coma after a year, learning she's now an angel, mated to Raphael. As she works to regain her strength, Elena must also adjust to her new circumstances, including her new body form, relationship with Raphael and a host of new enemies. And, Elena's memories of her family's devastation resurface throughout the story, sometimes at the most inopportune moments.

I loved the story's honesty. Yes, Elena and Raphael bring the heat but when things cool down,

In the mood for a dark, intense and smoldering sexy read that may have you gasping for breath? Nalini Singh delivers this in ways you can’t imagine with Archangel’s Kiss, the second book in her Guild Hunter Novel series. The first book, Angels Blood introduced vampire hunter Elena Deveraux, who lives in an alternate New York City universe where angels rule and are things of wonder to bow down to and be very afraid of. Elena was ordered to hunt down a supernatural serial killer than ended up bein ...more

This book more or less takes off from where “Angels Blood” left off. Now that Elena has awoken with her wings she is taken by Raphael, her Archangel lover, to the beautiful but dangerous home called The Refuge, where the angels keep their children safe and hidden from mortals. But it seems that Raphael and Elena have made many dangerous enemies amongst the cold blooded and ruthless angel race and Elena has come to the attention of the passionless gaze of the Cadre. With an unknown angel trying t ...more

Did a buddy read/reread of this with Amy and Sarah. This book was so much better the second time around. the first time I was on a high from Angels Blood and its non stop action. This time around I wasn't expecting it and got to just pay attention to the different characters as they get developed. I felt non of the ire against Elena that I felt the first time. Not sure why, I just connected with her better I think this time around. It was fun reading along with 2 others as their st

Archangel’s Kiss is the second book of the Guild Hunter series that follows Raphael and the newly Made angel, Elena. I know this is supposed to be an urban fantasy romance, but I feel that Archangel’s Kiss focuses more on the romance this time around. A lot of the book is about Elena and Raphael learning to trust each other on a deeper level. Though some may find this annoying and hella boring, I think it’s essential for their relationship to work. Raphael is the goddamn archangel of New York so ...more

What can I say? Just WOW!, I wish I had read it before. So good. I loved it, read it through the night, couldn't stop. There is something in this new world that NS has created that will blow your mind, just like that.

I loved to read about Angels again, there is something that I found in them so interesting that makes me wanna read more and more. I love the concept that NS developed about them, so different from everything I have read. I swear that I never thought that reading about angels would
I was so exited for this book and so frustrated that the library didn't seem to be getting it in, that I finally caved and bought it.
And totally loved it. Nalini Singh's writing sucked me in from the first page. Raphael is sort of an uber-Alpha character which took some getting used to in the first book. There were parts of the first book where I honestly didn't want the pair getting together. But he grew on me and by the end of that first book I was hooked. There's still action in this book, b

Favorite quote(among favorite quotes):
"I'll never leave you, Elena." A glimpse of the archangel he was, used to power, to control. "And I'll never let you go."
Other women might've rebelled against such a claim, but Elena had never belonged to anyone. Now she did, and the knowledge began to fix something broken inside of her.

Okuma durumumu güncellemeye geldiğimde farkettim bu harika kitaba yorum yapmadığımı... Halbuki okuyalı ve bitireli uzun zaman oldu. Kitap beni hiç hayal kırılığına uğratmadı. Yeni melek olmuş Elena ve Başmeleğimiz Raphael'in hikayesi son hız devam etmekte... Bu kadar şey yaşamalarına rağmen birbirlerini tanıma çabasıyla verdikleri uğraşı okumak çok zevkliydi. If Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series is a multi-part symphony, her Guild Hunters series is rock opera. This is a dark, moody, operatic series, where the author is utterly unafraid to go “there”. You know where I mean? No? Let me explain.

Elena Devereaux is a born vampire hunter. One who fell in love with the archangel Raphael, the angel who oversees North America. Except that, she’s recently been turned into an angel, and awakened from a year-long coma. She’s in the Refug

This book picks up shortly after Raphael beat Uram and killed him. Where Raphael through the given loophole made Elena into an angel. An angel with a mortal heart.

Elena spends time at the Refuge to get used to her wings and gets the 101 on how to be an angel. Trouble is attracted to Elena and in this book it is no different.

Weaker than the first book. Plot is a bit thin imo, not enough action, investigation not as engaging and the worst - the humour is gone. What happened to snappy short dialogues and snarky Elena's retorts? Romantic line seems to be more developed placing this book firmly on the paranormal romance shelf.
Last 30% is what saved it for me. Introduction to the Forbidden City allows N.Singh's worlbuilding shine once again and there is enough happening to bring the entertainment to the level of Angels'

My Thoughts:

This novel was way better than the first if that's possible, as Angels' Blood was amazing. Euphoric even. This series is a breath of fresh air in the monotony that is the PNR genre. This new addition doesn't disappoint either. I loved the raw chemistry between Elena & Raphael. I love how their relationship evolved. Evolved is a word used alot in this novel & describes it perfectly. Almost everyone evolved in some way, revealing parts of themselves the reader never knew &
Dear Everyone Who Told Me To Read This Series,

Thank you.

I love this series so much. I think I want its book babies. I don't know what's wrong with me that I didn't read this series sooner. The plotlines are interesting, the characters fascinating, and the men...YUM. If I was a bigamist (and a character in the books), I would probably try to marry most of the guys.

I enjoyed watching Elena finally begin to work through her past and nightmares, with the help of Raphael. She's extremel

~ 4.5 Archangel’s Kiss Stars ~

Archangel’s Kiss is book two in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.

Outstanding! Wow! Loved it!

I’m in love with this series and can't get enough. I keep devoured the books from beginning to end. I couldn’t put this novel down. The characters are interesting and deep, the world is unique, and the action is outstanding.

Archangel’s Kiss follows Raphael and Elena who is a newly Made angel. This book focuses on Elena and Raphael's relationship and the romance that

One year after entering a healing coma, Elena Deveraux awakens to discover that Raphael has made her into an immortal angel. As Elena comes to terms with her new body and her new abilities, she must also deal with the machinations of the Cadre of Ten and the atrocities committed by an angel who will do anything to join their ranks, even kill the consort of the most dangerous of archangels …

A sequel that more than lives up to expectations!

It's incredibly bad. I liked Archangel's blade, could tolerate the first but this is just endless flowery prose, a main heroine who constantly thinks about sex, how sexy everyone is around her, how sexy the world smells, the sex she craves all the time, how hot everyone is, and she does it with bizarre phrases like 'ebony dipped in sapphire'. (When talking about hair. )
It just keeps going on, and on like this, pages of this, and then some recap of the last book, and then we're suddenly talking

This is my attempt to re-read the Guild Hunter series, since I used to love it so much. I can't say I feel the same way anymore. I guess I just grew out of it. Or maybe I stopped liking cavemen, and Raphael is one of the biggest cavemen out there. I'm not going to delete my older review. Let it burn my eyes from time to time.

Old review:

Of course this ended up being another perfect book. It’s Guild Hunter we’re talking about after all.

First of all I must comment about the cover. Wow!

I finished this book, and as I was reading it I was reminded why I love Nalini Singh so much! She creates such complex worlds and her characters are just so intriguing and full of mystery that I just have to continue reading her books to find out all there is to know about the world and the people in it. It doesn't get better than that in my opinion. Of course, I have my favorite people, and even ones that I can't stand, but they all have me emotionally invested in some way. Wether they make me ...more
