I am rereading this for about the seventh time.

FOr me this book is about more than parenthood or childhood, it is about grace, about the wonder of the human being to imagine itself. It's about language and thought and the marvel of interior existence. Without being in the least bit religious, it is actually quite spiritual concerned as it is with the wonder of things, beyond the sum total of biology or evolution. This book was just lovely. A light read that also made me think about how humans develop habits and feelings and empathy. I missed this (real life) character of Madeleine when the book was over.
