I know I have gushed about this series before but I just can't help it. I just adore this series. It is so much fun to read and the characters are just so unique and unlike any others out there.
I loved the first two books and this one was no different. I love Yuki, Cal, Simon and Emma. Their friendship and loyalty to one another is just so refreshing to read. I love how they all ban together to get the job done regardless of what that job may be or how dangerous it is. The love they all share f...more

August 22, 2010 was my first introduction into to the world of EJ Stevens and the first Book in her Spirit Guide Series She Smells The Dead. I was hooked!

This was the first paragraph of my first review written for the Paranormal Romance Guild. I have just come upon an enchanting new Paranormal Mystery Story written by Dark Poetess, EJ Stevens. She Smells the Dead is just what the Moms and Librarians have been looking for. A New Series of books with enchantment, mystery, love and commitment.

I didn't think it possible to fall even more in love with this series (and the characters, oh the amazingly swoon-worthy male characters and the super snarky female characters), but after having read this book, the third installment of this series, I found that it is indeed possible.

While I liked the majority of the earlier books, I liked everything about this one. While in the earlier books the characters were somewhat melodramatic, they were stronger and more confid...more

Review Posted on Reading Lark 10/4/11:

As many Reading Lark followers know, I love the Spirit Guide series. These reads are fast, quirky, and inventive. I have grown to love the characters and always look forward to spending time with them. E.J. Stevens is also an incredible Indie author who does so much for the writing community on her blog. When she contacted me about reviewing an ARC for the newest installment in the series, I jumped at the chance.

Man, do I love E.J. Stevens. She has such a pure innocence in her prose, as if she’s capturing just what it means to be young and in love and also, at the same time, have the weight of the world on your shoulders.

In The Legend of Witchtrot Road, the third installment in her Spirit Guide series, Stevens steps back a bit. The far-reaching story arch that encompassed the first two books is still present, but it is allowed to linger in the background, to heighten naturally. As a...more

The third novel in the Spirit Guide series is definitely my favorite in the series. E.J Stevens really pulled me into Legend of Witchtrot Road, right at the first page by putting two lead characters in a scary and tough situation. I read this book in one sitting and really wished it never would end.

I have to give props to E.J. and to her Spirit Guide series. This is the third time that she's delivered a high quality, straightforward and entertaining read. Her success is no fluke! The momentum of this story is still holding strong and there's no sign of it wavering anytime in the near future especially with two other installments already in the works. As reluctant as I was at first to read a book titled She Smells The Dead; now I find myself eagerly anticipating Yuki...more

My Thoughts: In this third book in the Spirit Guide series, after She Smells the Dead and Spirit Storm, we continue to follow Yuki as she learns about her abilities and tries to survive high school.

Looking at this series as a whole, as I finish this omnibus edition, it occurs to me that it might be nice to have had some idea of ho...more
These books are brilliant- such a wonderful mix of mystery and magic with really quirky and lovable characters.
The Legend Of Witchtrot Road follows Yuki and friends investigating the death of a football player, killed whilst driving down the supposedly haunted Witchtrot Road. His smell impression keeps leading them back to the school, but Yuki herself is in grave danger when the rest of the football team accuse Yuki of being a witch and of casting a fatal curse on the team. Yuki, Calvin, Simon...more

In this, the third book of the Spirit Guide Series, Yuki and company have their hands full. They are trying to solve the death of one of their fellow students, Cal is dealing with his ongoing responsibilities of pack alpha, Emma is acting weird and doesn’t seem to have her head fully in the game, a new member joins the pack and he and Simon are not getting along, all the while they are all dealing with the usual teenage problems at school and learning to live with their own abilities.

E. J. Stevens returns with the third instalment of her popular Spirit Guide series, Legend of Witchtrot Road. If you are new to this series, I highly recommend checking out the two preceding books: She Smells the Dead and Spirit Storm. This will allow you to appreciate the story and characters thus far.

For those of you that follow my reviews, you may already be aware of my feelings towards this series. If not well, I love it! I am a huge fan of the Spirit Guide series and as a result, Stevens ha...more

OH GOD! I loved this one - totally! I wonder why it's under the genre romance when it should be under the mystery shelf. Yes, it has Cal and Yuki's cute romance, but well.. ;)
Hell, had I been speaking all this - I would've had spoken with the speed of an airplane, faster if that were even remotely possible! Yes, that explains my excitement or the epiphany I had while reading the book. A 20,000 words would be less to explain, so I'd finally get to the point.

I love the way this story is developing. Yuki is such a great charachter. She is funny, adventurous, and so kind. And I love the fact that she is a "social outcast" being a freaky goth girl, in the anime club, she and her close circle of friends, that keeps growing by the way, they are no strangers to being bullied. Which is a very serious topic these days. And the bullying in this book get's quite a bit dangerous. She and her friends handle it well. I think that these books would be a very good...more
I received this e-ARC from the author for review

E.J. Stevens' Legend of Witchtrot Road picks up where we last left Yuki and her friends. Although since I read the first two books many many books ago, it took me a bit to get caught up. But it was still a good story and another 1 day read!

Witchtrot Road has its legend and nearly everyone in town avoids it after dark, because long ago a witch was killed and took his revenge on the travelers on the road. It's explained better in the novella. Anyway,...more
When I got this book I did not know that it was the third in a series. Reading books out of order drives me bonkers and so when I found out that I was it drove me a little nuts but I pushed through. The book was wonderful. The first few pages had me hooked and I immediately began to see why so many people sang praises for this young adult series. In my book it was a lot better than some of the ones that I had seen. Without pushing some of the boundaries there are for young adult themes these day...more

I guess I'm going to be one of the downers when it comes to reviewing this book. Sorry about that!

Legend of Witchtrot Road is the third book in Stevens' Spirit Guide series and although I loved the concept behind the story, it wasn't as good as the first two in my humble opinion.

While I still love the spunkiness, and snarkiness of Yuki and the fact that it appears her abilities are growing, there were some parts like the constant fist bumping between Yuki...more

Yuki survived Samhain, and everything should be fine (until next year, anyway. Or until the witches she stole the amulet from find out she took it. Whichever comes first). But a jock has just died on Witchtrot Lane, centre of a witchy curse, and the J-Team – jocks and general jerks – think Yuki is the one who killed him. She didn’t, obviously, but try telling that to the J-Team. Plus a werewolf from Simon’s past has reappeared, and the rivalry between the two of them seems ready to e...more

This was an enjoyable installment to the Spirit Guide series. Yuki, the main character, was super cute and funny as always. I also enjoy the side characters in these books, especially Emma and Cal, but even Simon was pretty great in this book.

I have a hard time writing a lot about these books without being spoiler-y because they’re not super long, but I always like reading them. The only thing I have a slight problem with is that the big issue of the novel usually seems to resolve itself quite e...more
I was a first read giveaway winner, Thank you E.J. Stevens and Goodreads, I really enjoyed it. This book is marked as a paranormal romance but I think it is more of mystery. However you can't help but love the main characters: Yuki who can smell dead people and her boy friend who is a wolf....and her friends that you would love to have. It has romance, high school bullying, ghosts. This book was really good, I never read the series or the books before this one, but I didn't feel like I lost out...more
Finished this book in one day... I just Love Love Love this series. I hope there are many more to come. I love that all the main characters don't fit in to the norm and also have positive outlooks, unlike most paranormal books with the gloomy whiny main characters. Yuki reminds me of what Abby (from NCIS) would be like as a teen. I'm loving the connection that is going on with Emma and Simon. As with all the books in the series the story has a nice flow and definitely leaves you wanting more. I...more
I have to say I do love E.J. Stevens work! Yuki's and Cal's love is just so breathtaking, pretty sure I sighed every time there was a heartwarming moment. There is a lot I would love to say about this book, but I don't want to give any spoilers! But I do know for sure that Simon has officially become one of my favorite character is the series. And all of Emma's vegan talk is starting to rub off on me! Spirit Guides series is definitely worth the read.

I LOVED this book. I can't wait for the next one to comes out. E.J. Stevens is such an amazing indie author. I'm addicted.
can Yuki solve the mystery of Dylan's death without getting herself hurt?
Love this series, very unique short quick read!

This was a fast and easy read. I was immediately intrigued and glued to the pages. Yuki's ability seems to be getting stronger. Cal is really fitting into his alpha role. And life for them is never ever simple. We are immediately thrown in to a story that leaves you dying to find out whats going to happen next.

The biggest thing for me was watching Simon and Emma. Oh yes there has to be something way more going on then we see. I wish I could get inside one of their heads for a while. Definitely...more

Today's review is on Legend of Witchtrot Road by E.J. Stevens

Legend of Witchtrot Road is the third book in Stevens' Spirit Guide series, and is my favorite one so far. Not that I feel that it is exceedingly better than the other two, but I have seen some growth and improvement in the author. I also like how the relationships between Yuki and Cal, and more importantly Emma and Simon are moving along.

In the previous two books we have come to learn about Simon's past and his first l...more
Yuki and the gang are back! Cal, Emma, Simon and Yuki are now looking into the death of Dylan, a kid from Yukis school who died on the legendary Witch Rot road. Why is it so important? Because, the J-team (a duo of jocks) has convinced the football team that Yuki is the one who killed Dylan! She must clear her name right? Of course.

What started out really great quickly turned into teen angst tedium. Action? Not so much, mostly the third book in this enthralling series is about relationships and...more

“I’m trying to decide whether to tell you two to get a room or go barf in the trash can,” Emma said. “I’m leaning toward the second choice. You are both getting way too weird. And gross.”

Cal barked out a laugh and slid his fingers down my arm to entwine with mine. His touch, and Emma’s comments, only made me blush more. Looks like Emma saw Cal lick my face after all.

Now that wasn’t awkward or anything.”
