AUTHOR: Renee Vincent writes in such a way that pictures from the plot flow in your mind as you read. She blew me out of the water when I read RÆLIKSENIN, Book 1 of the Emerald Isle Trilogy. Action passion adventure action passion adventure action passion adventure. MAC LIAM is Book 2. The plot in this book? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Onward I go to Book 3 when it comes out.

Mara is torn. She, while raising her son Lochlann, has been alone for seven years. Breandan Mac Liam is in love with her. G...more

If you loved RAELIKSEN, you must read this for the rest of the story!

At the end of RAELIKSEN, Mara (the Connacht princess and wife of the Northman, Raeliksen), was left a pregnant widow. Not exactly the happy ending you might have been seeking, I know. Now, seven years later, Mara is raising Daegan's son alone, and the man she thinks is her father, the king, is dying. Breandan Mac Liam, the Irish hunter who loved her in book one, is sent by the dying king to retrieve his daughter. For seven long...more
Great ending of the second book. The hero, who we met in the first, is great and the heroine has grown too.
I must say that I still don't understand what's so great about her, but the book is really very well written that it aboundantly compensates for that.
I'm curious to find out what shall happen in the third book, since it seems to me the story has ended with this book...

In this second installment to the Emerald Isle Trilogy, the story takes place several years after the first ended and we come to learn more of the fate of our characters. How did they overcome such seemingly insurmountable tragedy or have they? Can time really heal all wounds?

Although Dægan’s people still mourn over events long past, they have chosen to rise above and rebuild after the devastation that befell their lives. Many still have trouble coming to terms with the past and obtaining the mu...more

Breandan Mac Liam is a man who knows his heart belongs to only one woman, the beautiful Irish princess, Mara. For years he has loved her, dreamed of her, and held her close in his thoughts. However, Mara was the wife of a charming Northman chieftain, Daegan Raeliksen, and she was to remain unattainable to Breandan. When their paths unexpectedly cross years later, much has changed, and Breandan is once again a captive of his love for Mara. Sent to retrieve Mara by her dying father, Breandan must...more

Reviewed by Stephanie O: The twists and turns of book 1 continue along in this installment. Not once was anything given away, you know how when you read a book and say . . “ah, I saw that coming.” That isn’t going to happen here.

So, if you enjoy books that keep you guessing and haven’t read book 1, I suggest you go grab it. Then have on hand book 2, because you are going to want to dive right in.

Please do not read any further if you haven’t read book 1. I would hate to r...more

“Love is not a choice,… ‘Tis what happens.”

Breandan Mac Liam loves Mara, a princess. Since she was a child invading his hunting ground, her natural beauty, grace, free-spirit, kindness, and joy for life has thrilled him. Mara fills his heart, leaving no room for another. In tenth century Ireland, a commoner, even a prosperous one, was not considered good enough to wed one of royal birth.

Mara married Draegan Raeliksins, who died leaving Mara and her six-year-old son Lochlann to the loving care...more

The continuation of the Emerald Isle trilogy comes to us in Mac Liam, seven years after the Daegan Raeliksen saga, we find Breandan Mac Liam, who was introduced in the first book, still pining after his lost love. He honestly feels no remorse in his pining and only wishes for an opportunity to see the object of his affection again. That opportunity arises when he receives news that the King of Connacht, Mara's father is on his deathbed and wishes to see his only daughter before he passes on. The...more

I have just finished reading "Mac Liam", second book of the Emerald Isle Trilogy written by Renee Vincent. After having read "Raeliksen", the story of Daegan and Mara, I was happy to follow Mara's story with her son Lochlann. It's also the story of Breandan Mac Liam, a young hunter from Ireland, who had always loved in secret Mara. Both will get a second chance to love again. Again, Ms. Vincent's book is filled with love and passion, as her first book was! It is very well written, captivating an...more

In the second book Mara has been a widow for seven years and living on Ins Mor with her son who never knew his father. When Breandan arrives with a message that her father is dying and wants to see her one last time, she must decide whether to stay or go to him with Breandan whom she knew from before. When she does return to her father, with his dying breath, he gives her the most unsettling news that rocks her world. Now, not only is she a widow with a young son to raise, everything she thought...more

The second book of the trilogy. Did not disappoint. Love the twist, with the heroine of book 2, being the same heroine of book one. Breandan is an incredibly sensual character! Excellent job, Ms Vincent!
An excellent follow-up to RAELIKSEN!
